Last Light: Idle Space Swarm
by HADDAN BRYANT WARD
About this game
Last Light is an idle clicker about a self-replicating swarm consuming solar systems — the asteroid belt first, then the planets one by one, and finally the star itself, shrinking stage by stage down to a final ember. When there's nothing left, you launch for the next system and do it again. Forever.
A FLEET YOU CAN ACTUALLY WATCH
Every probe you build is a real ship on screen. It flies in from deep space, takes its place in the formation, works, wanders, gets shepherded back into line — and eventually grows old and dives into the star, replaced by a fresh arrival. Scouts skitter wide. Harvester swarms crawl close and heavy. Higher classes discipline the classes below them, and you can watch the formation tighten as your command structure deepens. Pinch to zoom in on a single ship or out to the whole dying system.
TAP, OR DON'T
Tap the star to harvest matter directly — or let the swarm work while you're away. Offline progress banks automatically.
AN ENDLESS ROGUELITE LOOP
Launching ends the run: the swarm completely strips the system and moves on, and you earn Blueprint Data to spend on permanent upgrades — propulsion, automation, deeper harvesting, head starts for every future arrival. Each launch offers more surveyed destinations with their own traits: metal-rich systems fabricate cheap, ancient systems run deep and slow, radiant stars burn bright and die fast. Chart new star types entirely — red dwarfs, gas giants, binary pairs, white dwarfs, red giants, and stranger things.
THE ATLAS REMEMBERS
Every consumed system enters your catalog: its name, its record, how long it lasted, how large the swarm grew. Nobody else will ever read it. The catalog is long. The catalog is patient.
— Finite, physical systems: everything the swarm takes, the star visibly loses
— A living fleet of hundreds of individually simulated ships
— An endgame worth watching: the star gives up its mass in stages while the swarm assembles its departure ring
— Roguelite destination choices with system traits
— Permanent progression through Blueprint Data
— Offline earnings up to 12 hours
— Optional rewarded boosts. One optional purchase removes the banner. No paywalls, ever.
The universe is full of quiet places nobody will miss. Visit each one, once.
