What players are saying
At this state, this game is not even close to worth it's price, I will however leave a positive review. I see a lot of potential in this game, and I wish to support the developer. Pros: 1. Items, collectibles, energy system 2. Real sense of progress Cons: 1. The map (or lack thereof) is horrible. Something has to be done to completely overhaul the map, aswell as make the distances not as treacherous to walk across. 2. Repetitive grind. I love grinding RPGs, but this game simply lacks any substantial RPG elements. Yes you level up, but there are only three things to level up. XP, Strenght and Intelligence. This system should be expanded upon, and made smoother. 3. Confusing career system. Please oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ please let the player know when they should change workplaces, or where to go. Have a tutorial where everything is explained, or a drop down menu showing different tips and essential guides. With all that said, I really want this game to be a success, I think you've got something good going here.
I don't often review games, but this one deserves some credit. My favorite flash game growing up was Stick RPG 2. I went back to stick rpg a few months ago, finished it in an evening and wanted more. I have always hoped for a sequel, but that will likely never happen. But fortunately this game happened. This has a similar feel to the Stick RPG series while creating it's own completely fresh and new product. It is absolutely filled with detail, secrets and careful design. I usually don't like games with a prestige system, but Super Life makes it a pleasure to play multiple times. I have 3 play throughs so far and each have lead me to a different approach while finding new secrets. My first time through I thought I was getting bored until I realized that I had only scratched the surface of this deep and entertaining masterpiece. This game plays much like a tycoon game as you grind from living with your dad and going to elementary school to getting your Doctorate and buying multiple mansions while solving mysteries and becoming a near deity in the process. I started for a fresh take on a well beloved childhood flash game but found something that goes well beyond what I could have envisioned at that age. I play few games in recent years due to time constraints, personal responsibilities and blah blah blah but due to recent shutdowns this has been a glorious time sink. This game has no micro transactions to try and suck your soul through your wallet which is much appreciated in a game with two currency types. At the time of writing I have 65 hours played and though I have accomplished as much as I know to due through the help of the discord server and Youtube guides, the developer has been very proactive in his updates and detailed patch notes to always give hope towards new possible content. I paid full price for this when I first saw it, only to later see it on sale but I'm hear to say that I have no regrets and am more than happy to support a developer who puts so much effort into their art. This is a simple game on the surface but is filled with secrets. It is very bold to make an indy game with the purpose of intentionally hiding content from the player. Super Life always ensures a pay off for the hunt that is worth every minute of searching. This game is a joy if you can read in between the lines and start to know what to look for in everything. I will patiently wait for future updates from the developer for Super Life or any other projects that make be coming. Thanks for a good time.
