Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween Night is a jigsaw puzzle lover's delight! The game is totally addictive and I keep going back to place a few more pieces.
The seasonal pictures are lovely to look at and there are 5 chapters, each with 36 images to choose from, plus a bonus (which I have not unlocked yet) and a random, perhaps timed? extra.
There is also the option of using your own photos or art to create puzzles.
Once you have selected your puzzle, you can customize your experience with a variety of choices, such as:
- 30, 48, 80, 108, 165, 252, 396, 572, 700, 810, 870, or 961 puzzle pieces
- 10 different backgrounds
- 8 cutouts - some of which are Halloween related - think skulls, bat wings, bones.
- A thumbnail of the actual picture or a ghost picture. (I enjoy working with a ghost picture.)
- Mouse can be set to drag the table with the left or right side and it is simple to zoom in and out, using the wheel or the buttons at the top of the screen, very useful in the larger puzzle modes.
-Selecting 'edge pieces only' can be set and undone with the click of a button at the top of the page.
- Extraneous pieces from random puzzles can be added, for those who want an extra challenge.
The tutorial is well written and easy to understand and can be accessed without leaving your puzzle. Sometimes I find jigsaw game instructions unduly complicated, but the ones in this game are wonderfully concise and I have not had one problem playing the game.
The game auto-saves and, when you return, you will see a window in the lower left hand corner, showing your last saved level and the percentage completed. Click on this window and you will be taken to your puzzle. If you're like me and have more than one started, you can find your other saved games in the chapters.
Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween Night is suitable for all ages and would be a fun Halloween treat! With all the customization offered, it is becoming one of my favourites of the genre.
