Please understand I have played the open beta and the closed betas with over 50 hours in total. So I am going to review this game super hard right now.
This current build is complete garbage. I recommend that no one buy this until they fix mostly everything. Back in the first open beta of this year I had tons of fun. The beta I am talking about is the one on March 15th. As merc you started with flares and axes and maybe a harpoon gun. That was really it. So no guns at all until a lot later on. The aliens were a big threat then. You had to worry about them charging you and killing you fast. You could buy flares. My friend and I had fun. We even had some RP runs that made the game really fun. If they had AI enemies during that beta it would have made the game even scarier.

Now the current build...........
Aliens are super weak. I mean super weak. Having a gun at the start makes it super easy for the mercs to kill aliens from far off. It does not feel like horror anymore. It feels like as a merc go in grab loot. Shoot everything and extract. Do not have fun times even with RP. As alien the hunt is not even that fun. It feels like a chore. I saw someone shoot another player with half a clip into the other player. The other person did not go down at all. Instead the person shooting died. I am sorry what. So that needs a major balance. Aliens have to run away a lot because if you do not play it right you just lose. Like even the spit does not help because it does not hit right. The abilities are just feeling off. The AI enemies do not really help. They really get in your way as a alien.

So please developers if you see this. GO back to the build from the march 15th build.
No Guns at the start.
Flares you can buy.
Aliens were stronger.
Mercs felt like humans and did not have a real advantage over the stronger aliens unless you played it right.
Melee weapons for awhile unless you find one in the maps or let you buy a nail gun or harpoon gun.
The game was 100 times more fun when the merc had to sneak all the time. Because running was a big risk. Aliens were scary. And when you did extract you accomplished something.

Simple fix. Go back to the March 15th build. Just add the AI enemies and contracts. Maybe fix the rep speed. Otherwise do not buy this game.

i just dont understand why the devs just dont go back to what they had in the beta. every time i said something in the discord about what needed to change people came at me about it and now that the game is at its lowest people wanna agree with what ive been saying. the discord is toxic. new players are bullied. and the devs dont care for the feed back. because if they did it wouldnt be where it is now. i love this game and ive never been so sad about a down fall of a game in my life.

Game With Potential, but Poorly Managed

At first, Level Zero: Extraction was a breath of fresh air—something different and genuinely fun to play. However, over time, the game began to fade away. I joined their Discord to ask questions and voice concerns, like, "Why aren't you advertising your game or sponsoring streamers?" The response I received was disappointing: they admitted to doing no advertising at all and said they planned to do so in the future.

As someone who purchased the Ultimate Edition to support the developers, I felt entitled to a little transparency. Instead, my questions were dodged, and their responses felt shady. When I pointed out that it looked like another case of developers taking players' money and running, the community in the Discord turned on me. I was called dumb and told that the devs knew what they were doing. They claimed the game wasn’t dying, that the player count (around 300 at the time) was fine, and that big updates and advertising were coming soon.

Fast forward a few months, and the game is completely dead. Where is the big update? Where is the promised advertising? It’s ironic because they claimed to have done no advertising, yet they played clips from streamers like Pestily on loop on the Steam page. For a team that supposedly never sponsored anyone or advertised, it felt misleading.

To make matters worse, the devs eventually banned me from their Discord because I stated the obvious: the game is dead, and their behavior seemed shady. Rather than addressing concerns or listening to their community, they silenced criticism.

Overall, the game had potential, but the lack of proper management, transparency, and commitment to growing the player base ruined it. As a supporter, I feel let down, and the community's defensive attitude toward valid concerns made the experience even worse. Unless something drastically changes, this feels like a missed opportunity.
