There is no way to manually save so your entirely at the mercy of the autosaves, the map was not loading chunks when i was exploring the city so i had to load a save after i won a battle and all the loot was gone.
Update: Seems like city is loading correctly now after the latest patch, loot despawning on loading saves is still not resolved and i am encountering and reporting other potentially soft locking bugs so it may be better to hold off until these and others are sorted out.

I've completed the game and this is my review so far:
Every Day We Fight is a turn based strategy similar to XCom but with real-time gun battles that remove the dreaded dice roll % chance of a hit. This is genius and I hope that other publishers follow suit and herald in a new sub-genre.
The game looks nice and mostly plays well though there are a lot of bugs that currently mean you will be quitting and restarting or the game will crash. The devs are updating and changing mechanics on an a regular basis so this should improve fairly rapidly.
After completing it, there are a few things that I don't think will be improved any time soon.
Firstly, this is a very short game compared to similar turn based games. There are only 3 Acts and it is story driven but it feels too short - I'd hope they expand on the whole thing by quite a large margin. Like, 10 times as much content. Don't expect a huge epic; it is not.
Secondly, there is a lot of repetition. Some of it is the premise of the game that has you repeat 'quests' and some of it is just doing a task again and again and again. It feels like padding to make the game last longer.
Thirdly, you only control 3 characters throughout the game and you don't build up a squad. But this should be balanced against great scenarios, weapons, customisation, locations and enemies that feel varied and deep - but they don't. The scale is too small at the moment.
Lastly, a lot of people have mentioned the difficulty and it is unbalanced. It starts extremely tough but after you have upgraded weapons and characters, it becomes a lot easier. It would be nice to have a more curved line of difficulty. Expect to struggle at the beginning.
Overall, I really did enjoy the game and the developers are clearly trying something new. Hopefully in the future the game will have a lot of content added to it.

First mission is kill 12 enemies then travel to another obj without dying. If you do die you restart both obj. I had it the first time and made the mistake of exploring. Died then had to redo the whole mission. 3 attempts later didnt get that lucky again. This game is far to brutal upfront and the small combat zones limit the ranged strats you can use.
