Tutorial is unclear and undirected - it just generates a small map and tells you rules after you've clicked down a bunch of pieces. Tool tips that show up for the tutorial no longer show up for the main game, because you've obviously memorized what these blocky, ill-defined shapes do and don't need any refresher, right? Then the game is just putting down pieces in weird configurations and the game ending because it didn't randomly generate a Town Hall that can get you new pieces in a place that you could reach with your pieces.

This isn't much of a game and isn't interesting. If you want puzzle-placement that feels like city building and allows ranked play, go get Dorfromantik or The Islanders. Those are actually good versions of what this is trying to be, and have similar price points.

Very strange, ill explained game with very little to it. There are no different kinds of buildings to place, just blocks after blocks of the same building.
Some other things like market places or grain fields spawn randomly on the map, and random numbers hover over them, but the actual placement you get to do is just the one ever same group of buildings in a number of tetris block shaped configurations

It is not that I do not like the game. I like the idea. What I have a problem with is that you can NOT save the game. You either have to play on or let the board go if you need to leave and do something else. This is something they need to add. Also they better guide on how to play. I hope they have more updates the last that I can see was back in June.

First of all, thank you for everyone who has downloaded Valley of No Roads! As the launch happened early in the summer, I went through burnout and couldnt really look at Steam without breaking into cold sweat. It's been the first game we have launched and now started to address all the major issues it had during the launch: - Tutorial is now more clear and works as intended - Tooltips are more clear and available in any game mode - Control layouts are now available in any game mode - Docks were not functional, but are now a essential part of gameplay Please continue to share any issues if you come by, I will be now addressing all the bugs as they are found. Thank you!

Minor update to 0.931

We got a minor update with the latest build, this makes it easier for new players to get started: - Default settings now start with 6x6 map, since 4x4 is definitely beyond new players. This will also result to all players settings to reset. - Market square spawn has been increased by 10% - Camera movement with mouse made more responsive. - Bridge bugs fixed, in some cases bridges could be built from bridges. It's great to see leaderboards filling up and things getting closer to launch! Thank you for all the people involved!
