Dexter Stardust is a traditional point-and-click adventure game set in space, featuring hand-drawn art and family-friendly puzzle-solving in the style of classic titles like Broken Sword. The first season offers a polished episodic experience with solid writing and humor, though the story remains incomplete and future seasons require a controller rather than keyboard-and-mouse controls.

A Spacey Classic Point and Click Adventure for All!

This is only season one so the story is incomplete.
That is not a problem, Lots of games do that. However, most games don't do this:
On the Steam page for season 2 is this notice:
"Notice: Dexter Stardust: Returns to Outer Space requires a controller in order to play. Playing with a keyboard and mouse isn't supported."
If you don't have a controller, or don't like using them, you won't be able to play season two, even though season one was mouse driven.
If I had known that in advance, I wouldn't have bothered spending money on season one.
An Indie, Episodic Point and Click😊

Great artwork and animation.
Good story.
Family friendly
Polished
I have enjoyed my time in Dexter Stardust, and what a fair price!
Dexter pays homage to traditional Point n Clicks with a bit of a Broken Sword vibe to it. I enjoyed the humor; it does not hit the “too cute” or trying too hard spot for me.
Dexter is episodic, there are four here. The first is a demo lasting about 15 minutes; it gives you a good preview of the game-play. The other chapters vary in length, game-play for me (no speed running here) is seven to eight hours. $7.99 USD is a great little deal!
The story is good, puzzles are well spaced and fair to the player. Not too easy, not too had; Dexter is an enjoyable game.
I’m on chapter four, I’m told this will end on a bit of a cliff-hanger; I don’t really care, it’s been fun.
The next chapter will include platforming. The dev tells me it will be of the “Mario Brothers” difficulty.
Controls/Options: There is an auto-save with very well-placed checkpoints, in addition to four save slots.
Access your inventory by clicking a red button, there is a checklist there to remind you of your objective. Director commentary is available and quite interesting.
The menu is a little odd, you access “new game” and then select the chapter you are on. You can replay chapters and access any chapter you like.
FIRST: It's a good game in a way and I like to support it. It's a classic adventure game (in a way) and I really love those games.
But I have to support it with a thumb down, because there's no neutral choice here and thumbs up are already overwhelming.
The reason is that this game makes me so angry about the wasted chances. It's basically a normal adventure game. Acceptable characters, no Guybrush or Simon here, but OK. It remind me a little at the style of runaway from pendulu studios, which is also spanish and has an average character design :D. A little empty enviroment, but not like the Telltale garbage.
What's making me really upset is the fact that the developers put no riddles in this "adventure". All riddles are made for 6 years old or airheads.
And what put me really into rage is the fact that the developer can do a decent adventure. I'm playing chapter 4 (which is episode 3) now and this is a really thumbs up and I would advice you to get that game only for that chapter, because the other ones I would call visual novels. This is the only chapter so far I would call an adventure game, and it's basically very fine.
But the developers wasted that chapter also in a way. There is a Jukulele museum where you can read random hints at the wall. WITHOUT WARNING!!! Thank you for delivering solutions to riddles if haven't conquered at this time!!! And if you examine an item Dexter will tell you quite often, or let's say ALWAYS, which item you will need to solve that riddle. And because you could be really dump, the item is highligted. EMBERASSING!!! I was stucked in that chapter and after solving ONE problem five riddles solved themselfes nearly automatically. AAARGHH!!!!
Please dear Developers. Don't allege your costumers to be retarded! You showed that you can do good adventure games, so DO good adventure games. Don't waste your potential by doing No-Brainers. Thanks!
And guys, we really need you. There are only very few developers creating good adventures out there. But always keep in mind that a good adventure games riddle style is demanding without being unfair.

When anyone releases a game, they never quite know what to expect. No release is perfect and every game has flaws, Dexter Stardust very much included. That said, people on Steam, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, and on their own websites, have been incredibly supportive and kind to Dexter Stardust. It brings a smile to my face knowing that people are enjoying their time with Dexter Stardust. Many people have asked about a sequel, since the game ends on a cliffhanger. Well, at the time I'm writing this, I have a solid vertical slice of the game. The sequel, "Dexter Stardust: Returns to Outer Space" will contain 3 episodes and I have completed the first episode. It's a pixel art adventure platformer that picks up immediately after the first game ends. Now that the art style, gameplay, mechanics, and systems are built, I can focus on creating the content for episodes 2 and 3. No release date yet, but I hope to release it early next year. We'll have to see what the year brings. So, thank you again for playing Dexter Stardust. And here's a sneak peak at the sequel: Sneak peak of "Dexter Stardust 2" {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/90685953ee4d0ca7630d8dfc4b2e67104fd5eb9c.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/3988b72805058bec76b1aa2921ad92a157d48a7a.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/ac9379d3099e8b6bfdb89166adcaeb060a31aa37.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/846bc4eb15b78343f99a26e5d95e6c04ce17ac90.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/8f6975c9ac4272d52d2194404a113dddf09748a9.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/73b16f15cef92ebf388af53717ff899d5b52dc96.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/82a38d8df9f65b4f63eb09c049069d0e82ac5b7e.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/327e7c1c59e3e82175ac2717f1777da7a775fccc.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/b9e7972cd33cfe898b73c9c0382a5f0a3e3c8fdd.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/b6b5b54bf76cd76f05421c5ec5fcdbd5b8f19c34.jpg
When you buy Dexter Stardust, you are getting all 5 Episodes in one game! It's like playing back-to-back episodes of your favorite Saturday morning cartoon. Go on this adventure for PC or Mac. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40646137/2677da911c026bcfbbde93e281340a612aa28a73.gif How did I complete this game as a solo-dev? Completing any game, for any team, has its challenges. Completing a point and click adventure game, that's fully voiced, when you have a full-time job, a family, and many other responsibilities -- well, that's a whole other level of challenging. Now, try to imagine writing, designing, illustrating, animating, composing, programming, and debugging all by yourself. YIKES! Good thing I had amazing friends cheering the project on and contributing their personalities and voices to the project. Learn about the final steps here:
