Most of my game play has been in the sandbox mode. I really like the game basics and overall look. As an actually table top gamer, I do not mind this visual part of the game and to be honest, I don't notice the bases of the units on land much. I like the simple control however, cannot see a way to select multiple units ?

I have been limited in the sandbox mode only by the lack of more than one army, (Not the case of the AI players), I hope this will be a priority fix.

Overall, for such a short time in early access, the product looks good, the game speed is good, slow enough to learn with a button to speed up when I got used to the controls(W.A.S.D movement, Q.E camera angle etc). Enough content for hours of play so far, especially as the map spawns slightly different each new game in sandbox mode,(placement of maroon and native towns). I look forward to what comes next.

I am really digging the table top vibe, overall feels kind of like ultimate general but with tables pieces. The game dose need more work for sure but whats there makes me hopeful this will end up being great.

The Morale Update!

A new update arrives to raise the morale of all soldiers, commanders and governors! THE MORALE UPDATE! Battles are about to get much more dynamic and chaotic in this new update. We've introduced a new mechanic; Morale. Now during a battle there are different factors which affect a unit's morale such as being surrounded by enemies, taking heavy damage, being in a defensive position or another new addition to the game, being near an officer unit. Morale can have a positive or negative impact, increasing a unit's reaction time, speed and more importantly, another new mechanic; Accuracy. Units now have a chance of missing shots when under heavy stress. Another important factor is morale damage. Every unit attack carries morale damage, including melee attacks, with artillery fire dealing a lot more morale damage than others. If units get hit from flanks or rear they will receive a higher morale damage than from the front. So how do you keep your troops morale up? keep them near each other in tight formations, keep your officer unit nearby and use its Rally ability which raises morale, position them in defensive positions such as woods, rugged or urban terrain and take the enemy officer out. When your troop's morale breaks you will lose control of the unit and it will return to your base camp. If your unit is near the base camp it will restore its morale as well. We also introduce UI elements to show a troops current morale and its effects. Factors that affect morale:POSITIVE+Friendlys nearby+Officer nearby+In cover+Unit superiority (you have more units than the enemy team)NEGATIVE-Enemies nearby-Enemy Officer nearby-Enemy superiority (you have less units than the enemy team)-Losing Strength (the unit's health is down by half)-Friendlies defeated nearbyMORALE STATUS EFFECTS: Unit's morale changes the color of it's health bar and statsConfident (Green): normal accuracy, normal speed, normal reaction timesWavering (Yellow): reduced accuracy, reduced speed, reduced reaction ...

New playable faction: England

Hello everyone! Let's talk about what we've been working on! This update was long overdue, we have finally added England as a playable faction in sandbox mode. In order to achieve this we made an entire new set of 3D models for their buildings and a lot of changes in the code in order to support multiple factions in the future, including the creation of a modular icon system. We also created new and improved icons for city building mode, a better looking unit interface when recruiting units and building ships, now you can see an image of the unit instead of their heraldry. A lot of changes and fixes under the hood were done as well, such as unifying the enemy AI for all base units in the game. -England is now a playable faction in sandbox mode -New building models for England in city building mode -New unit icons for army deployment menu -Added modular icons for units in overworld Other: -Militia is now recruited in the Governors Palace-Tons of changes under the hood for future proofing when adding new playable factionsWatch video on YouTube

Hello everyone. While testing for the new update featuring a new playable faction, we found some bugs that required fixing immediately. We also added a new song in sandbox mode by our talented composer Anthony Webb. - Fixed a bug where enemy ships AI wouldn't start in a naval battle - Fixed a bug where Maroon enemy units wouldn't spawn - Fixed a transparency issue in slipway building - Added a new song that will play in the overworld in sandbox mode
