World Warfare & Economics is a positive improvement to the geopolitical franchises that dominate the strategy sphere. I've been covering geopolitical games for years, since Masters of the World and Power & Revolution and SuperPower 2.

After the disappointing disaster of SuperPower 3, many players are eager for a brand new game which tries to create a better atmosphere and improve on what GeoPolitical Simulator fails at; constant, consistent improvement of the game.

Since 2021, I've been in contact with the development team at Okron Studio and I'm absolutely confident in their goals, their vision, and how they want to see the game. But players who are new, who haven't seen this game before, need to understand this: IT IS AN EARLY ACCESS GAME. IT IS NOT FINISHED.

The game is in dire need of polishing, some features are missing, and it needs a total revamp in some sectors. I am leaving a positive review for the game because if you want any game to have a chance at surviving, you NEED to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Here's a video with my total thoughts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utg1I9lgMmY&t=27s&ab_channel=PoliticsGaming

Otherwise, know what you're buying. There's so many things it does right, and any improvements will be listened to. Lotous, the developer, WANTS THIS TO BE A COMMUNITY GAME! And it can be if you are going to give it your confidence. Trust is how we move forward, and for now, I trust Okron!

Just getting started and already I am impressed. That obvious money grab Power and Revolution can finally be flushed down the toilet where it belongs. I will write another review when I explore the game more.

I have never left a negative review in my life. This changes now.
Spelling issues are forgivable; it's early access, and these can be addressed.
The war dynamics? Utterly busted. Conquering and puppetry? Might as well be wishful thinking. None of these options seem to function as intended.
Trading mechanics? Pure fiction, contributing zilch to the gaming experience.
AI intelligence? Let's just say it's not winning any awards for brilliance.
UI/UX design? Enter horrid territory with menus that feel like navigating a clunky maze blindfolded.
Politics? A mechanic so inconspicuous it might as well be non-existent, making zero impact on gameplay.

An exercise in resilience. While the developer promises a complex world of war strategies and diplomacy, the reality is far from the mark. Let's peel back the layers.

The sheer disregard for basic functionality is staggering. Spelling issues aside, the game's core elements fail to deliver, rendering the act of charging money for it unjustifiable. The war mechanics, supposedly the game's backbone, are nothing short of broken. Attempts to conquer or puppet territories result in frustration rather than triumph. Additionally, the clunky menus further exacerbate the experience.

Trading, touted as a significant aspect, feels like a fictitious element with no tangible impact on gameplay. The AI, meanwhile, lacks the brilliance one would expect, contributing to a sense of predictability that undermines strategic depth.

The UI/UX design plunges into horrid territory, with clunky menus further exacerbating the gameplay woes. Trying to adjust settings like taxes becomes an exercise in futility with non-responsive menus and an impractical scroll wheel that lacks the flexibility to input precise numbers. Having to click the "X" to exit menus is an exercise in frustration, further contributing to the overall usability issues.

The promised depth of the political mechanic turns out to be nothing more than window dressing, offering no meaningful influence on the overall experience.

At this juncture, the game feels like a soulless map, a mere shell of the promising concept it initially presented. Forget about bells and whistles; the game struggles to deliver on even the most fundamental aspects. As a player, paying for this experience feels more like a charitable donation than a fair transaction.

In conclusion, the game desperately needs a comprehensive overhaul. Addressing these glaring issues is not just a suggestion but a prerequisite for salvaging any semblance of gameplay value. The developers must urgently reevaluate their product if they aim to retain player trust and interest.
The development team's responsiveness to player feedback, though falling short of advertised claims, will play a crucial role in determining the game's future success.

Note: It's crucial to emphasize that this negative review is a result of the significant contrast between the promised features, extensive whistles, and bells, and the stark reality—an experience that essentially boiled down to a mere map, lacking meaningful content, coherence, functionality, and purpose. Importantly, this assessment draws from dedicating thirty hours to thoroughly explore the game; it doesn't encompass all issues, though the ones highlighted are undeniably game-breaking.

Hello everyone! Version 0.90.1 is now live This version has been released to address some critical errors reproted by players. Unfortunately, I made a mistake with the saving/loading system in the previous version, which caused saving or loading political data to throw an exception and break the save system. As a result, players will need to start a new game again...Fixes:\ Increased resource cap to 1M\ Fixed an issue where loading a saved game with protests, strikes, or promises would throw an exception\ Fixed a pathfinding issue that caused lag in unit movement\ Fixed an issue where squadrons couldn't enter aircraft carriers\ Fixed several issues related to units entering and exiting navy ships\ Fixed an issue where flawed unit designs weren't saved\ Fixed an issue where the design flaw popup remained active and wasn't registered by the UI systemAnother critical error that i have seen is major GDP decrease at some point - this is under investigation and will be fixed as soon as possible.
