Lucky me wins the dubious honour of writing the first review for Desert Magic Adventures, an asset flip from cash grab copy + paste artists, wow wow Games.
Desert Magic Adventures is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, wow wow Games. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio store, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception. It's nothing but a cash grab.
This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel top down wave survival shooter game where you must destroy blocks and kill monsters until all the monsters are dead. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games.
Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers.
In line with dishonest asset flippers, the game was dumped immediately at launch into DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles. It's massively overpriced, with a ridiculous $10 USD price tag, confirming this is nothing but a cash grab. Even if this wasn't an asset flip, it would be garbage. Impossible to recommend.
