Craftlings

A perfect blend of 2 of my childhood games, Lemmings and Settlers. I feel like there was a little bit too much info thrown at me right away in the tutorial, but I could always read everything once more in a slower pace anytime I wanted to. I have just finished first level and the experience is great so far! I felt big attention to details everywhere and it costs so little as well!

Meh. It is not what I expected but that is on me for not doing research. This is more like a puzzle game just like its inspiration. So if you are looking for a good automation game or a good city builder then keep looking. I would describe this more like a puzzle game with city building and automation elements. You get various buildings that create various resources and then have to figure out a way to get those resources where you need them next. Tools are just another resource. Enemies are stationary and you bring the fight to them so don't expect base defense. You switch between needing a resource to selling it for gold, another resource. Thankfully gold doesn't need to be carried to buildings that need it. It does have its challenges but there are times it was putting me to sleep as I fast forwarded while I had to wait for resources to be delivered to complete and objective. I don't regret my purchase but had I known then what I know now I most likely wouldn't have made that purchase. It is not a bad game but it is also not a great game. As a spiritual successor to Lemmings though it hits the nail on the head. Unlike Lemmings you don't seem limited to a certain number of deaths. Perhaps that changes after the tutorial which is 4 out of the 12 levels long. That's how far I am at the time of this review.

I really tried to like the game. The graphics are beautiful, the music is pleasant, and the Settlers feeling ( Wuselfaktor ) is there. However, it quickly becomes too hectic and confusing, and therefore frustrating. The developer tries to explain the game mechanics in the discussion forum, but this should be explained clearly within the game itself, not outside of it. I hope more updates will help.
