Yet another Polygon Art game shoved out with zero passion and care put into it.
Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw5itgstFgE
Pros
- Weapon Models are the best they've ever looked
- Random Mission Generator is cool, but these guys have done the same thing for years. Nothing new here.
Cons
- Map is flat, empty and barren. Buildings look like they are made for N64 games. Nothing there.
- Gunplay is lifeless. Hitmarkers and little recoil. No impactful feeling of firing weapons. Just... lifeless.
- AI is the worst I've ever seen from Polygon Art. They either see you through foliage from 100m+ away, or they can't even see you standing in front of them
- Walk underwater without taking damage
- Vehicle physics are just terrible

I played already other Parts from UA by Polygon Art and like the new Part "World War 2" much. A good and disturbing feeling to sneak around the tropical Island (Map Midway) and behind every bush/tree or something could be an enemy.
Good Atmosphare, i hope when i unlocked the other Maps they will be as good.
BTW Polygon is currently making a Vietnam Game, i just saw a Video from it, i think Unreal 5 and the Jungle, the Vietcong and "Fortunate Son" will be a great combination.

Dear United Assault Community, We hope this message finds you well and enjoying your experiences in the battles of Normandy '44, the Battle of the Bulge, and the broader theater of World War II in our United Assault series. As developers, we've been deeply grateful for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm you've shown for our games. However, as much as we've cherished your feedback and excitement, we must address some challenges we've encountered along the way. When we embarked on the journey of creating United Assault - Normandy '44, we never anticipated the immense success it would become. Initially targeting the Nintendo Switch, the game's unexpected popularity brought with it both joy and unforeseen technical hurdles. As we've continued to support and improve our games, we've encountered limitations in their structure and performance that, regrettably, cannot be easily overcome without significant restructuring. The prospect of rewriting the entire game is daunting, not only from a technical standpoint but also considering the potential impact on the experience you've come to love. That's why we're reaching out to you, our valued community, for your input and guidance. We're considering the possibility of United Assault 2, a fresh start that would allow us to address the shortcomings of the original games while staying true to the spirit of the series. But we don't want to embark on this journey without your voices being heard.
