Red Chaos holds up okay for an early access game. There's no narrative campaign at the moment, but the skirmish and multiplayer modes are fully functional. It's definitely a classic-style RTS with fluid base building and resource gathering. Combat is responsive and the units are fun to use. The engine runs nicely; I haven't encountered any noticeable FPS drop or crash during large encounters.
My main gripe with the game is its extremely heavy use of AI in art and writing. You will be greeted by a VA reading an AI-written script the moment you launch the game. Loading screens and unit portraits are 100% clanker-generated. Most of the in-game text content is machine-written. There is very little creativity involved in the apparent art direction.
I really want to recommend Red Chaos, especially since it takes some inspiration from C&C Generals and I'm rooting so hard for the RTS genre. It's just that the overuse of Artificial Intelligence makes it feel soulless.

24,50€ base price is too much. The game is currently on a 15% sale and in early access yes but I'd wait until they either release more content or drop the price further.
The game however has very fast loading times.

I really wanted to like this game. After playing tempest rising on repeat i was itching for another CnC RTS style game. This has all the buttons there but feels horribly off. Maybe because its in the unity engine but things just look strange. Unit pathing is sluggish. The game doesn't look as good nor as clean as the trailer shows. You can build a base, upgrade it and make more advanced units. No superweapons in the version I've played. It just feels so underwhelming. I hope they continue to make this more and more flushed out and fluid. I'd totally give it another go one day but it's not for me at this time.
