Your Love Story 被你忘记的那个夏天

This is a short Visual Novel where you learn that love alone is not enough to make a relationship work, you need to talk, listen and understand each other too. There are choices but only one ending.
The art and music are wonderful, the presentation is excellent. I don't think I have seen transitions between scenes be this well executed in a Visual Novel before. The story is interesting but rather open-ended. You kind of have to make up your own conclusion to everything.

There is only one major drawback to this: the English translation. I found it confusing that the names of the characters weren't Chinese while the places described were. (I assume that was done for localisation purposes.)
While this is not the worst translation I have ever seen, the wording is often awkward and sometimes a sentence doesn't make sense. However I am grateful this even got translated.

I definitely recommend this short experience if you can overlook the translation quality or can read Chinese well enough.

The art is pretty, although there is not much of it.

The story is .. there. I'm not sure of how much of it is due to a cultural differences, but it did not connect with me. The protagonist felt to me like an ass, but from what I know, asian cultures feel different about the main aspects of him.

And the ending is a mess, it could end the same way without using an awkward anime trope, usually used for laughs, in a dramatic moment.

There's also some jokes thrown into the mix, that are completely lost in translation. The jokes are probably not the only thing lost, as the translation is very rough.

It's one of those things that need a "Neutral" review. As it is not horrible, but it's not great either.
