Haste-Miner 2 tasks you with clicking and swiping across blocks to earn tokens and materials. You spend your currency on pickaxe upgrades across multiple planets, with passive generators offering an alternative to active play. The game appeals to players seeking a very light incremental experience, though the shallow upgrade tree and clunky interface limit strategic depth.

There's a core of a reasonable incremental game here, marred by two significant problems.

1. The game appears to be too simple. Perhaps there's some further depth to it, but I wasn't able to find it in nearly 3h30m of gameplay. Mechanically speaking, there's not a whole lot to strategise.

2. The controls and UI are.. well, they're pretty bad. After the very early game of each planet, your efficiency is based on how quickly you can wangle your mouse around, rather than your upgrades. Managing your upgrades and such in the overworld/hub area is awkward, with the menus being automatically opened and closed based on proximity to their.. building? Thing? This means that walking past the different utilities at your disposal makes you lose sight of your character. These menus also hide important UI elements, like the money you have to spend in the shop that's open.

The solution to the UI and control problems is fairly trivial, but the game mechanic issues may require a significant overhaul.

For £1.70? Yeah, it's not bad. I don't regret getting it. But I wouldn't call it "good". It simply lacks the depth required to be engaging for more than a small time.

Too simple. You biy upgrades, you press left click and you swipe the mouse over blocks. From time to time you sell blocks, buy upgrades and go to the next mine. The incremental gameplay loop is non existent. After a few upgrade in the first 2 minutes you already farm very fast, only limited by how fast you can move your mouse hand around to hit the blocks. Too cumbersome, not very rewarding, boring quickly.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I haven't yet gotten to other planets or the reset mechanic but so far it's almost better to literally AFK in town and let the two currency generators do their duty for a couple hours. Spam some upgrades, rinse repeat. The actual block mining is more "do some of that if you want to".

Also the town UI is rough. Sometimes buying multiple upgrades when I just click once, like it has some sensitivity issues. Not too much of a problem when you're flooded with resources but early on it was pretty annoying.

It's... okay. Serviceable. I want to hit the other planets to see if the scenery changes but not sure I'll be on this one for the long haul or not.
