Interstellar Conquest is a barebones game that promises more on the store page than is actually present. The core mechanics is simple, you take over planets, build up your colony, go around and take over your enemies' territories while overpowering them with your fleet of ships.

The game has no introduction or tutorial, so you have to dive in and try to figure it all out yourself. Fortunately for the basic nature of the game and lack of content, there is only so much to do and figure out before you are on your way to completing the game.

Oh, there's also no campaign. You literally run with one from a set of pre-generated maps and populate it with other AI opponent(s) and go. There's the 3 different factions but nothing to tell you what they do or how they differ. There's nothing that gives you ideas on how to progress or advance. You just take turns accruing currency to keep building and expanding, and then engage in fights when needed.

There's no save game, you just play each map until your game is over. Or you quit and restart at a later date I guess. Not sure why this basic function is completely omitted, just like a start-up tutorial.

Skip over this game and move onto something more interesting. This is not worth your time or money. This game feels like it belongs in the late-90s, not mid-2020s as we are in now.

After a few hours, I was wondering what the heck I am doing wasting my time.

I like the concept of the game.

However the game still requires some work and content to gain more attention and playability.

What could be improved:

1.) When you mouse over on the enemy unit you should know what kind of unit is that. ( missing info )
2.) The sound effects of the spaceships when they fire could be better.
3.) More maps or random maps generator (this would be a perfect solution)

Hope you will find this feedback constructive.

Fun game with a ton of potential. Reminds me of a not quite finished version of Sid Meier's STARSHIPS.

Would be nice to see more types of buildings on planets such as cities which are kept fed by farms which in turn are kept going by weather control systems etc all represented by building in the same way the current factory, defenses and market are represented. Being able to upgrade buildings and ships from their starting base would be another nice addition. Having ships and planets take damage from outer space events like magnetic storms, meteor showers, traveling near a blackhole which could also slow the travel speed which could effect a nearby planet under attack which needs reinforcements,

Graphics are enjoyable giving a strong tabletop mood to everything that is going on. Sound effects have a certain retro charm to them but could use a slightly more modern sound to them perhaps with another layer over the current sounds to give them a bit more impact and depth.

INTERSTELLAR CONQUEST, Buy it! Play it! Travel the vast infinity of space conquering other planets and vanquishing horrific inhuman alien monstrosities!!!

The recent update to the game has introduced several new features and improvements, including a map generator system. This new system allows players to generate randomized maps, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement to gameplay. Players can now explore uncharted territories and face new challenges with each game they play. The addition of sounds for building constructions, the ability to swap unit positions, and the prompt to play another map after victory or defeat, all contribute to a more immersive and enjoyable gaming experience. The update also includes bug fixes, such as the issue with left shift skipping turns and the problem with newly spawned units not appearing on top of the planet. Overall, the update brings a variety of improvements and new features that enhance the gameplay and make it even more engaging. Added an option to generate random maps. Fixed the lack of a tooltip for the "enter carrier" function. Added sounds for building constructions. Added an option to swap unit positions. Added a button to view the map. Fixed left shift skipping turns. Players will now receive a refund for canceling ships in the queue list that have not yet been built. Updated some sprites. After victory or defeat, players are prompted with an option to play another map. Players can now return to the maps selection screen while the game is paused. Fixed the grayscale option that was not working. Fixed the issue where carriers of the same team were unable to repair units of the same team. Fixed the issue where newly spawned units would not appear on top of the planet but rather in the back. Stay tuned for more! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43608766/c9afa9412307b563cd3f4cf7f0d8fa13931231fe.png
