As the oh-so wise Ernie from Sesame Street once proclaimed...
🎶 "Rubber Duckie, you're the one, you make bath time lots of fun!" 🎶
Tiny Ducks: Desktop Bath is a relaxing desktop idle game that turns your screen into an adorable & interactive bath for rubber duckies! 🦆 QUACK!
Setting the scene is a customizable "bath" that sits at the bottom of your screen (even if your taskbar is set to the top of your display). Users can change the opacity & color of the water & border using RGB, HSV, Linear, or Hex# Codes. Additionally, users can change the water height (making the bath as large or small as they'd like).
As no bath is ever truly complete without rubber duckies, players will earn 1 duck every ~3 minutes while in-game (with each duck entering with a splash — literally!). As of 04/13/2026, there are 41 unique rubber ducks to collect (with hopefully more ducks coming in the future 👀). All of the duck designs are endearing (in both appearance & description), and some even include special behaviors when idling and/or clicked (i.e., Cloud Duck "floating" around screen or Bubble Tea Duck becoming "emptier" with each click). Additionally, users can decide which ducks (& how many) appear active on screen in the bath, and adjust the zoom (to make ducks appear larger or smaller). The unique behaviors of the ducks coupled with the excitement of seeing new ducks appear keeps the gameplay fun, interesting, & engaging — a welcome distraction to the more mundane tasks of our daily digital lives.
Perhaps the most enjoyable part of Tiny Ducks: Desktop Bath (other than collecting ducks) is the way the ducks interact with the bath (such as bubbles appearing when a duck hits the water). Users can also dive their ducks into the water to create "waves" or splashes, effectively launching their rubber duckies as if they're on a trampoline. It's genuinely wholesome, relaxing, & weirdly cathartic.
Further adding to the coziness of Tiny Ducks: Desktop Bath is a large selection of relaxing music options (including 15 different playlists as of 04/13/2026). Users can select which songs and/or playlists they want to hear, with options to pause, skip, loop, or shuffle songs, or mute the music altogether. Additionally, volume sliders are available for the music, sfx (i.e., duck "quacks"), and UI sounds (i.e., clicking buttons in the interface).
Perhaps the only major issue with the game is a visual bug that occurs when clicking on any of the game's components (such as the ducks or music player) while Steam is your active tab (causing your Steam page to temporarily appear blank/black). This bug was also present in the demo, but ultimately wasn't deterrent enough to stop me from buying Tiny Ducks: Desktop Bath & collecting ALL the ducks once again in the full release (as someone who'd already spent 6+ hours with the demo). 😉
Overall, despite a few fixable bugs & QoL issues, Tiny Ducks: Desktop Bath is a genuinely wholesome & relaxing experience to lighten up your days. 🦆
