●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・● I absolutely adore the pixel aesthetic!! The little glitches here and there and the ability to make a horror scene is so cute too!! ❤ The color options are so pleasing to the eye and there's a few references (omg the Undertale one) ❤ You can take control of the character and walk around and interact with some things! ❤ The controls are fairly simple but I wish there was a bit of a tutorial ❤ The lights makes it look so cozy!! You can change the time of day and everything changes color, there's also rain and snow! ❤ It reminds me so much of Yume Nikki (a very good thing) ★ I wish you could change the size of furniture (you can make tables and couches longer and such) cuz I wanna place a lot of small clutter on surfaces but then the book is massive for example ( ̄︿ ̄) ★ I hope there will be more furniture and things added! More cute items! More horror items! Moar cute girls!!!! ★ A lot of items can't be turned, I think only chairs (and one direction is missing) Please make the tv's and computers turned! A super cute game for a very fair price, so many possibilities to be creative and it's also very relaxing (❤ω❤) ♥ I will be uploading both still and moving screenshots if you're curious what you can make ♥ ●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●●・○・●・○・●

So recently was having a conversation with a friend about how fun it is to watch diorama building videos. I went to search for the game Diorama Builder so I could link them to it and in searching "diorama" came across this delightful little game. At $5 I felt like it was worth supporting as it looked super cute. And while I do think the game needs a bit more work, I will say it's well worth the $5. I've built two very nice rooms in the about hour and a half I've played. One that is a spooky themed room and one that is just a cute little room I was fiddling with. The spooky theme one though, was because there is a monthly community contest! It's advertised in the game with a pop up and I honestly adore this! I'm not the biggest fan of Hokko Life as a game overall, but I always loved the community contests for building cool things. So I was absolutely delighted to see this game has something like that! So what are you doing in this game? You're just decorating. Like it's in the name, it's called diorama and that's exactly what it is. You're building a diorama. That simpel. There's nothing else to explain. There is no end goal, just build cool ♥♥♥♥. In the same vein as games like Flow Scapes, Tiny Glade, Gourdlets, and Summer House. So what sets this one apart from those others? Well, the point of the game is the same but I really like the variety in this game when it comes to building and I love the art style. There's so many cool little bits and bobs in this game. Also you can make items bigger/longer. Like when you place a table you can make it as long as you want to. You can right click on an item to change it's color variation and some stuff has a physical variation. Like some bottles you can right click on and get a different variety of bottles. Some other nice features are controlling the time of day and being able to change the weather to foggy, rainy, or snowy. There's a lot of variety in what you can build... but at the same time it's pretty limited at the moment. That's one of my "complaints" about the game, meaning it's a complaint... but not really. As it stands there's a wide variety in some items but not in others. Like there's a LOT of wall papers and floors... but not as many plants as I'd like to see. There's tons of customization with colors and variations.... but you don't seem to be able to rotate items or move them after placing them.... There's a pretty good variety of chairs and tables... but there's mattresses and no bed frames (though a few items you can use to represent a bed frame) There's a ton of food items... but no plates or cutlery. As well as ovens and sinks and stuff... but not many smaller appliances. The game at the same time has very little and a lot of variety. That being said!!! Credit where credit is due this dev seems to be VERY involved. While the discord isn't very active, I joined tonight and there are areas to give suggestions for furniture and stuff AND if you look at the most recent update for the game they say that the next update will include more items. Clearly this dev is dedicated to the game and what is in the game currently is not all there is to it. Is it Early Access? No. But frankly... I don't care? For $5 what is in the game is worth the price as far as I'm concerned. Even with what feels limited at the moment, I can still make a fair few fun builds and I already have ideas for other things I want to build. So while I'm talking about the amount of options feeling limited, it's not a true complaint. Because I can tell the dev is dedicated to the game and feel confident that more will be added to the game as time moves on. Outside of that my *actual* complaints mostly come down to UI and some QoL things. Such as the settings menu being a bit odd. There is a layering option... but it's like one big layer. So if you want to put something on a bookshelf you can only put something on the top shelf. If you try to put, say, a book behind a layer so that you can have it on the second shelf. The book will go behind the entire shelf not just the top shelf. There also doesn't seem to be a way to rotate. You can change what way an item faces, but you can't turn something in like a circle. For instance in my spooky build there is this kinda broken up board that I was using to make the windows look boarded up. I had to leave the board going up and down because there was no way to rotate it to be diagonal. You don't seem to be able to select an item and move it after placing it. You have to delete the item and place a new one. Which is a little bit of a pain. All 3 of those things made playing quite frustrating at times because it was limiting me in my ability to do things I want to do. There also doesn't seem to be a way to close the game in full screen mode and I've had to tab out to close it outside of the game. Also there is a visual glitch where the flooring/walls will glitch in and out as different images really quickly. Something that hurt my eyes as someone with sensory processing disorder. That being said, if you experience this, there is a option for "reduce motion" in the menu. It says it will disable animations... but it doesn't. Which normally I'd consider that a bug, but here it's a feature lol. Because clicking that button stopped the glitchy floors and walls, but left the animations on for the animated items. Which made me happy because I wanted to be able to still see animations. I will say as frustrating as those things were at time, none of the are game breaking for me and none ruined my enjoyment of the game for what it is. I can only hope that those things are changed in the future... but even if they aren't I'm still happy with the game. Conclusion. I think the game needs more polish and definitely needs more items. But with a dedicated dev who clearly wants to keep tweeking and adding to the game I'm okay with that. At $5 I can't complain really. If this was a $20+ game I'd have issues, but at $5 it feels like a fair price for what you get at the moment. I certainly don't regret the purchase. I bought Tiny Glade because I got in a building mood and I really wanted more building games and this game is scratching the interior decorating itch I had after playing Tiny Glade and Summer House. Because it does seem like a lot of the decorating games coming out lately are mostly for exterior building and not interior. Like... what else could I play? House Flipper or Sims? Both of these are a LOT more complex and frankly I like the simplicity and coziness of this game. I also, again, love the visual style. I wanted a simple decorating game and damn it... I got it <3 Check out my Curator Page

The game is so cute and I love the references hehe :3 I'd love if if somehow we could change the playable character tho :,) that would be a fun addition to the game! Good work though!
