Merge matching pixel balls into your container to build combos and push your score higher, with a goofy twist where one glowing orb becomes whatever it touches. The straightforward, Tetris-like gameplay works best in short bursts, though its simple premise and appealing pixel aesthetics have proven oddly engaging even for non-gamers looking to unwind.

I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a simple, relaxing, Tetris-like game where you merge matching balls without overflowing the container. The music and graphics are cute, and the controls are smooth. There's only one mode, but it's surprisingly fun.

My wife isn't a gamer, but when I showed this game to her, she took my laptop and played for two hours straight. If that's not a solid endorsement for a casual game, I don't know what is.

Just like the funny fruit game you try and merge "balls" together. But this time you have a glowing orb that can become whatever it touches.

GOOAL!!! It's World Cup time!!!

⚽ It's World Cup Time!I know... the World Cup has already been going on for a while. But as a Brazilian, a football fan, and a gamedev, I just couldn't let it pass without doing something special.During the World Cup, the football balls have received a special makeover! Every country that has won a World Cup now has its own unique sprite. The World Cup champions are:CountryTitlesSpecial SpriteBrazil5 timesItaly4 timesAlemanha4 timesArgentina3 timesFrance3 vezesUruguay2 timesEngland1 timeSpain1 timeKeep in mind that this is purely a visual change. You can still merge football balls with different designs— even if that feels a little cursed. 😅I hope you enjoy the new artwork! Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite, and which other countries you'd like to see represented in the future.Other UpdatesSome players mentioned that the new box artwork made it harder to distinguish the side boundaries. Because of that, I'm working on a customization system that will let you choose between the classic and the new box art, as well as additional box themes. That feature will take a little more time to finish, so for now I've adjusted the colors of the new box to make the boundaries easier to see. Let me know if it feels better!I also added a small splash screen when the game starts. Nothing too fancy, but hopefully it'll help you remember your favorite gamedev... haha. (Let me dream. 😄)Bug FixesI also fixed a couple of small issues you may not have even noticed:Fixed an incorrect shadow effect on the new fonts.Fixed an issue where the background movement could occasionally become desynchronized. That's it!I hope you enjoy the update, and have fun playing Super Pixel Merge Balls!See you next time!

Interface and pixel art improvements

Update Notes – Super Pixel Merge BallsHello everyone!So... I originally made this game back in 2024 with no big expectations and absolutely zero experience hahaha. Since then, I've discovered a lot of new tools, met some amazing indie developers, and learned a ton. With that in mind, I'm coming back to update Super Pixel Merge Balls and make it even more fun to play. This new update brings UI improvements, redesigned ball sprites, and a few other changes.UI ImprovementsMost of these changes came directly from player feedback.Ball Evolution GuideI've added a visual guide to the UI showing the evolution order of the balls. This makes it easier to plan your moves and helps avoid those moments where you forget which ball will appear after merging two blue ones (for example) hahaha.Improved Fonts & TextSince releasing SPMB, I've been working on another project and learned a lot more about text rendering in Unity (the engine I use). One of those things was text styling, so I gave the game's fonts a little makeover to make everything look nicer... or at least I tried hahaha.Improved Ball SpritesI'm definitely not the world's greatest pixel artist, but I've improved a bit since then. I added some lighting and shading effects to the ball sprites, and even though it's a simple change, it gives the game a much fresher look. :DBefore:After:New Top Limit IndicatorI also added a line at the top of the play area to clearly show the maximum height. If the balls reach that line, it's game over. Hopefully this will prevent those unexpected "Wait... WHAT?!" game over moments hahaha.Redesigned Play AreaThe box where the balls fall has also received new artwork and is now a little wider. Let me know what you think about the new design!Along with that, I rebalanced the gameplay by increasing the play area's size and adjusting the ball sizes to create a more enjoyable pace.Controller Support RemovedThis is one change that not everyone may like.I noticed that pretty much everyone was playing...
