I wanted to like this game a lot. With the many NFT-like software out there this looked refreshing. Refreshing in terms of its humour and there was a sense of belonging since there was a countdown showing the overall progress of the community. Lots of drops so that we could change the look of the character we click on and here there were TONS of familiar faces from famous franchises.

I lamented in the forum that there was a white screen (crash) problem and due to server issues the synchronisation was delayed so it was possible that when you quit you lost thousands (or tens of thousands or even more) clicks. But these were eventually addressed and some new features were added. Too bad there was a limitation to autoclickers but the overall funny tone of the game kept me coming back.

Then suddenly an announcement was made 2 months after release that the servers were no longer functioning. This suspension already happened when the news was released. Whilst the financial part is understandable, some mentioned that they made no mention of it on Discord, plus, an offline feature could have been added for the people to finish off achievements. At this point - considering its hiatus status - I cannot recommend ClickBait.

A low effort clicker game in a long line of them all about Steam inventory items to make money with no over-sight for poor gaymers.

Important Update Regarding ClickBait

Dear ClickBait Community, We hope this message finds you well. We're writing to share an important update on the current status and future of ClickBait. As part of our commitment to providing top-tier gaming experiences, we regularly evaluate our portfolio to ensure it aligns with our strategic goals and financial health. After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause ClickBait and take the servers offline temporarily. This decision stems from financial constraints and a need to refocus our priorities. Here’s why we’ve taken this step: Cost Management: Maintaining the servers and ongoing development for ClickBait has become financially unsustainable in the current environment. Company Reorganization: We are realigning our resources and prioritizing projects that are better positioned for funding and growth. This is not the end for ClickBait. We’re passionate about the game and its community, and our goal is to bring it back, better than ever, once we’re on more solid financial ground. We’re actively seeking funding and exploring opportunities with other products to help revive ClickBait in the future. What this means for you: The servers will go offline on September 20, 2024, suspending all game functionality. We encourage you to wrap up any in-game activities and connect with friends you’ve made in ClickBait. Your progress and purchases will be saved and intact when ClickBait returns. Looking Ahead: We will update you on any news or developments through our official channels. In the meantime, we invite you to check out our other games as they receive more focus during this reorganization. Your support means everything and will help ensure the future of ClickBait. We are deeply grateful for the passion and support you’ve shown. This is a challenging time, but with your continued backing, we look forward to the day we can welcome you back to the game we all love. Thank you for your understanding and loyalty. Warm regards, The Liithos Team
