This works completely fine, but there's no depth to it. This is Cookie Clicker if all you had was the first building (Grandmas baking cookies) which maxed at 10 units, and your progression stops there and you've 100% the game.

It looks intentionally like a Game Boy game, and has the menu to match the aesthetic. Meaning it feels intentionally obtuse.

There's maybe 30 minutes worth of interacting with the game to speed it along before you max it out, maybe 10 minutes if you don't mind it idling longer in the early game. That interaction involves two things: first, clicking a button to drop more fish in; and second, clicking the pond to drop food pellets. The only other thing you can do is purchase upgrades. That's the whole game.

Unlike many idle games that artificially inflate playtime with absurdly low drop rates (0.00001%, seriously?), Fishistry avoids this frustrating "gambling" mechanic, making it far more approachable and enjoyable for casual players.

The gameplay is simple yet engaging, striking a nice balance between idle and clicker mechanics without feeling like a grind. Its minimalist style is charming, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome—you can complete it fairly quickly while still feeling satisfied.

I really appreciated how accessible it is compared to other idle games that often feel punishing. Looking forward to seeing more bit-crementals in the future!

Idle game to the maximum degree. Actively playing this game results in 0 progress. The only way to truly progress from it is to walk away from it for a few hours. Some might argue "erm...it's an IDLE game, of course it's not active" but without the GAME part of Idle Game, this is just something to bump your electricity bill up by a few pennies this month for no reason at all. Not worth.

Bit-cremental: Fishistry Color, a nostalgia-enhanced DLC, is out now!

Hi, my fisher friends! I just released a new aesthetically upgraded DLC for Bit-cremental: Fishistry that plays along with the classic Game Boy inspired graphics. This is a purely aesthetic DLC - although there have been some bug fixes and other minor tweaks that came along with this update - so keep that in mind before you buy! It's just a little thank you for the support and provides a way to further support my future development endeavors, because it only gets better from here! Happy fishing! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421390/Bitcremental_Fishistry_Color/

v1.2 - New Upgrades + QoL

Hey, my fisher folks! The first big update for Fishistry is out now, and thanks to a bit of feedback I've been able to improve the gameplay a bit. Let's jump right in! New Auto-feeder: You can now purchase and upgrade an auto-feeder that will randomly spawn food pellets over time. This is great for a little extra boost when in full idle mode. Auto-stocking Minimum Increase: The auto-stocker has been upgraded to allow you to upgrade all the way to keeping the pond stocked to the maximum fish allowed. You do have to purchase the first level to even use it, but it's very inexpensive. QoL Changes You can now Right-Click on the menu to go backwards a menu tab. Since this was a slightly larger update with the upgrades, I have been testing it quite a bit to ensure every angle is covered, and I will keep at it. If you find anything, please let me know! That's it for this update. I hope you're enjoying your fishing adventure, and I look forward to the next update. Thanks for your support! Happy Fishing.
