This works completely fine, but there's no depth to it. This is Cookie Clicker if all you had was the first building (Grandmas baking cookies) which maxed at 10 units, and your progression stops there and you've 100% the game. It looks intentionally like a Game Boy game, and has the menu to match the aesthetic. Meaning it feels intentionally obtuse. There's maybe 30 minutes worth of interacting with the game to speed it along before you max it out, maybe 10 minutes if you don't mind it idling longer in the early game. That interaction involves two things: first, clicking a button to drop more fish in; and second, clicking the pond to drop food pellets. The only other thing you can do is purchase upgrades. That's the whole game.

Unlike many idle games that artificially inflate playtime with absurdly low drop rates (0.00001%, seriously?), Fishistry avoids this frustrating "gambling" mechanic, making it far more approachable and enjoyable for casual players. The gameplay is simple yet engaging, striking a nice balance between idle and clicker mechanics without feeling like a grind. Its minimalist style is charming, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome—you can complete it fairly quickly while still feeling satisfied. I really appreciated how accessible it is compared to other idle games that often feel punishing. Looking forward to seeing more bit-crementals in the future!

A very cool little idle fishing game! I love the graphics and the music, it reminds me of playing games on my game boy as a kid. I like how the gashapon mechanic was implemented, its kind of addicting lol. Overall I'd recommend it if you need a new idle game to play.
