The Travelers combines text-based exploration with cooperative MMO mechanics, tasking players to scavenge a post-apocalyptic wasteland, uncover hidden story fragments, and solve environmental puzzles alongside others. Its minimalist presentation and tense atmosphere draw players into a larger mystery that rewards curiosity and collaboration, making it ideal for those seeking narrative depth and community problem-solving rather than combat-focused progression.

Ok, re-re edit after my partner and I became the first ones to finish the game. This game is a true example of excellence in writing, graphics, design, and puzzles with a powerful message and a philosophy that I don’t just find beautiful, but one I honestly think we should all share.
The Travelers is a game about solving a mystery, a puzzle, uncovering the story of what happened, exploring, gathering materials, cooperating with others, stealing, fighting, building. With the simplicity of its design, it completely pulls you in always making you wonder what else happened, what the next step is. The items, the inventory, the materials everything hits that perfect balance of simplicity and complexity that makes it incredibly engaging without ever feeling “grindy.”
Here, there is only excellence. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece. A hidden gem.
I truly hope everyone who reads this manages to finish the game.
I had a dream about this game the other day, if that gives you any idea how obsessed I am with it right now.
Give it a go. Join the discord. I haven't felt this way about a game since the community came together to solve Fez. And it's seriously making me question whether or not Clair Obscur is actually the best game I played this year...
So far this game is very interesting. Scavaging the wasteland for supplies, while peicing together parts of the story. The overall feeling is tense and mysterious. It's simple, yet the presentation is clean and immediately engossing. I'm happy with my purchase so far!
Hello and welcome to the "version update" update of The Travelers, which features many accumulated smaller bug fixes that couldn't be addressed sooner due to the other fires that needed to be put out. Since this is the first update where many changes have been collected instead of being pushed as quickly as possible, rapid-fire, per-emergency, this update will officially be referred to as version 1.0.1. Here is the changelog! It's nice to finally be able to do one of these: Buffed acid suit / sanity helmet to fully resist cold when worn together Adjusted the negative altitude of craters to be more realistic with other environmental features In the crafting menu, the amount of the viewed item you currently own is now displayed above the "craft" button Water is now only considered hazardous during autowalk if you aren't wearing the appropriate clothing to survive it Closing/reopening the game during a temporary teleport will now restore the countdown timer Added a few more anti-piracy measures, since apparently the game has now been uploaded to pirate websites. Since this is an online game it's easy to refute at least. Added an invert-scroll option to the Gameplay Settings menu Added a hidden setting to reduce the instancing-count in the text/rectangle shaders. The default is 10202 which can be high for certain graphics cards with lower VRAM (such as in lower-end laptops). This setting isn't shown in-game, but if the game crashes due to low VRAM while lots of text is being displayed (such as while reading a transcript with the map zoomed all the way out), reducing this value should help. It can be found in the settings.tt2 file in your appdata folder, beside the name "rect_text_instancing". Try 5000 or 1000, don't go too low. Increased the contrast of the colors of Bob's couches If you die during a temporary-teleport, the corpse is returned to the original spot, not dropped where you died. This confused many players who thought their bodies had vanished, so a clarifyi...
One week ago, I released my first game, The Travelers. Despite a few months of off-and-on testing by about dozen players, the launch was a total disaster. Something was horribly wrong with the netcode and players could not join and play at all. I was in front of my computer for 3 days desperately trying to get everything fixed. Things finally smoothed out, though, and after a good many complaints and a few refunds, people were finally able to dig into the game. I cannot thank you all enough for how much love you've shown. 5-10 players consistently since launch, so much discussion about the lore, so much work put into solving the mechanics of the game's worldwide puzzle. It's been so rewarding to continue working on this game, building new features and fixing (lots of) bugs to get everything as perfect as possible.I am truly humbled by the positive reviews so far and the amount of time people have spent playing. This post is just my way of saying thank you so much for playing and enjoying my game, even with how badly things went for those first few days. I am so thankful and appreciative of the community that has already formed. There'll be changelogs and a few feature updates coming soon now that I can stop panicking about the server issues and spamming required updates on Steam. For now, though, the game can finally just breathe and stay online for a few days whlie the smaller bugs get addressed.Enjoy your travels, and happy puzzle-solving!
