I'm unsure how I feel about this game. My silly brain was stunned by the adorable little kitties and another idle type game to add to my library. I bought it immediately and within seconds of playing, I quickly realised... this is a blatant "copy" of the game Time is Honey.
I had to go and check if it was the same devs making Cats are Money and unfortunately it's not. This is just Time is Honey but they switched the cute bees for cats. Everything is the same from the way you use food and love, most of the UI and even the name is similar. Somehow Cats are Money feels less polished, the comic sans font isn't really helping.
I don't hate the game, its adorable, fun and simple, the price is low and it works. If you haven't played the other game then you will love this one. I just don't feel comfortable recommending a game that is basically trying to profit from anothers hard work and creativity. There isn't anything unique about Cats are Money in comparison other than the cats and cleaning the trash (so far). I will keep playing for now and update the review if anything changes because I bought it and I'm not a huge fan of refunding but for now, I feel disappointed. I do feel really bad for being negative, especially for such a small game but I have to be honest.
I play on steam deck and it was much easier to use docked with mouse and keyboard otherwise, you HAVE to use the touch screen in handheld mode because the controls either don't work or they're too finicky.
