If you like screen banner games, then I’m pawsetively—pun very much intended—that you’ll like this one! I find it an absolute gem, but to be fair, I might be biased because I'm really into this new genre of screen banners and desktop pet stuff. And I absolutely love that we’re slowly seeing more of them… *cough*Addiciton, thisispureaddicitonatthispoint*cough* But I digress.
As the name suggests, in this one, you run a company with adorable animals. From the moment I started mine, it wrapped me in a warm, hand-drawn art style. The colourful visuals immediately captivated me. I mean, you can hear me say 'aww' and hear my voice tremble when the art thing popped up right before the game fully started. That shark is now my new spirit animal!
I immediately knew it was going to be a nice one, and after the hours I’m currently in so far, which is less than I wanted them to be because I still had other thingies to do and couldn’t have it open (booo! I know!), I’m sticking with that point!
When I first started, I wasn’t sure if my blind boxes would increase my chances of getting a better level, but thankfully, they do. And the cost of buying a box AND on top a pack can feel heavy in the beginning, but as you slowly build up and earn more paw-coins, it gets better. So, some patience, something I am horribly amazing at (lol!) is key! I can already feel some friends staring and judging me, shaking their heads because they know I have zero, if not less, patience at times…
Besides the colourful aesthetics and the fun upbeat music tune, it’s also the animations that do it for me. It’s a pleasure to look at those little cuties in different animals and colours.
The little details, such as suddenly seeing one play on their game console/phone, dozing off or sleeping, rage typing or even having cramps while crawling to the toilet or the face they pull when you poke them to stop slacking off, is just such a fun thing to see! Heh. It also makes them feel more alive and gives them so much more personality. Those little cuties!
And I’m looking forward to later, when I have a lot of paw-coins in my pocket, because the customisation options look like a dream! However, I still have a lot of them to unlock by unlocking the other company floors, because, yes, you don’t just run a basic office. Once you have enough level and paw-coins, you’ll run other floors too! A magic castle, a space base and even a toy city, which sounds so adorable! My toes wiggle at the idea of achieving and unlocking those. I can’t wait!
The only issue I have so far is that some aspects are still a bit confusing to me, such as the vending machine and whether they can snack from it and have their hungry stat reset or not. But I’m still learning, and I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Till then, I can buy food from the store tab and bribe them with it to be more productive hehe. And the fact that screenshotting seems to be a challenge. While drafting this review, I got a super cute shark buddy to work for me, 4 stars! But I can’t for my life seem to screenshot him and show him off (boo! Lol.) for the longest time and it took me several tries to figure it out how it would stop capturing the store tab and capture my pull.
I still wish we had an overview of all the animals and colours combinations possible and not just the achievement ones. I think it's partly curiosity and partly wanting to have pulled them all at least once, and maybe a tiny bit of pickiness about who I want to keep/have long-term for my own sake. Like, have you seen the pink shark with the doughnut floatie? He’s my everything right now, and I don’t care if he’ll make me less money than others eventually. He’ll never be fired, unlike some others. But none of those are a deal breaker to me, and I’m super glad with this little banner game; it makes me happy, and it makes me smile.
So, if you’re into them, consider this one. It’s cute, it’s cozy, colourful and lovely.
I’m having a lovely time in here, with a movie, series or podcast on the side, having a cozy, lazy me-time. Because sometimes we need that warm pixelated hug in game form to nurture us, to give us a little break from real life, stress or other thingies.
A few future ideas:
*~ A Janitor for the little papers on the floor:
While it’s great to keep you busy picking them up, as your company grows and you let it idle, it can be a bit much sometimes. I was thinking that perhaps a janitor or a few cleaners could be a fantastic addition.
*~ A Kare… I mean, Manager:
A little the same as with the papers, if you let them idle, they tend to be less productive and slack around, sometimes a lot. It’s like where’s my money at, I’m trying to run a company! So, I was wondering if we could have someone who automatically pokes them if they slack off for too long. Of course, except for going to the toilet, get a drink/food. Otherwise, that would be cruel, lol. However, it made me question the game's balance. So maybe hire someone for a set number of minutes or an hour while you're away or busy?
Slowly growing my little company VS This pink shark is everything! <3
