Unboxathon wraps the incremental loop around opening mystery boxes to find items you sell for skill upgrades, unlocking new box tiers with rarer contents. The game layers in bubble-popping minigames and artifact crafting alongside the core cycle, though players report progression feels imbalanced with minimal automation and grinding that outstays its welcome for a three-hour experience.

Unboxathon is a very addictive game where you have to open some boxes to discover many items to sell to upgrade skills to open more boxes with more valuables items, etc... It kinda simple but it's funny. It just miss a little something to be more really interesting like collecting items or something else. The pixel designs are nice and the music is cool and relaxing. It took me about 3h to obtain 100% achievements. It's better buying it in sale. Anyway, I recommend it. 📦💗

After getting all achievs, i wouldnt pay full price for this. Its very underbalanced and lots of the timings dont match up. the game moves incredibly fast when you realize you can quickly unlock the next tier box, get one box, sell it then boost the spawn rate in bubbles fast. rinse and repeat. the last 'quest' i completed was 250 boxes, and for the last quest, it gave 10 crystals when i already had thousands of them. shelves and item income do absolutely nothing which also makes the item synthesis worthless. the primary money maker is selling boxes. it is possible to ascend boxes to the point where you no longer get them via bubbles and have to purchase them with money. I think with some balance changes and hopefully a future endgame that isnt boring, i would recommend it, but right now I cant. Giving it a thumbs up though because I can see potential.

I’ve played a lot of incremental games and really tried to like this one, but it ultimately falls short. The progression and number balancing feel poorly thought out, with upgrades that don’t scale well and require excessive grinding, along with a noticeable lack of automation features. Progress exists, but it’s extremely slow and not rewarding. With tighter pacing and more focused design, this game could have been shorter and truly shine. As it stands, it feels like wasted potential.
