I cannot get more than 3-4 frames in the flow mode when I get below 5 minutes, literally unplayable.

Idle & Incremental Lovers recommends Drifting Dots:
Zen and relaxing "cascade" incremental. The 3 game modes are diverse and interesting. Brainpower is mandatory for high-scoring. Lacks a way to clearly visualize the impact of your upgrades, though.
+ Minimalist art style fitting the zen atmosphere of the game.
+ Sound design is great, zen music and "no assault on your ears" enjoyable droplet sounds.
+ In the 3 game modes, you have to choose between creative (but purely mathematical) perks. These choices are your only input, but they are pretty meaningful and you can really twist your brain about each of them.
+/- It's a score attack game, no goals, no ending. Whether you like it or not is a matter of personal preference.
+/- Each upgrades make the next upgrade 10% more expensive, and it's cumulative! Which mean you rapidly go to upgrades costing 1000x their starting price. It's an interesting take, cause it forces you to think twice before buying cheap low-impact or short-term only impact upgrades. But this is also a system that makes you skip a lot of upgrades that would have been fun to experiment but are not the best of value town.
- Biggest gripe is that you don't have stats or visual signals (like color-coding for example) that show you how efficient/rewarding every channel is, or how much you gained thanks to each different perk. It's a game about meaningful choices, but it's sadly pretty difficult to evaluate the impact of your choices.
*Overall, I'd say it's worth it if you want to cascade your stress away*

Performance & Stability Patch v1.0a is Live

Hi everyone,First off, a huge thank you to everyone who has been playing and providing feedback since launch. I've been reading every review, and I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to report the performance issues some of you were encountering. My top priority was to get a patch out as quickly as possible to address this. Today, I'm releasing patch v1.0a, which is focused entirely on performance and stability.I'm very sorry to anyone whose runs were impacted by stutters or slowdowns, especially as The Cascade got more chaotic in the late-game. That's not the smooth, zen-like experience I want for you, and this patch aims to fix that.Patch Notes - v1.0aMajor Performance Pass: Optimized how the game displays the essence pop-ups, and gradually reduce showing them as FPS falls. This should significantly reduce or eliminate the stuttering that could occur late in a run when hundreds of droplets are on screen.Fixed Insight Bug: Fixed the bug where no insight is gained if the run is not a personal best. The update should download automatically the next time you launch Steam. If you continue to experience any technical issues, please don't hesitate to report them in the Steam Discussions. Your detailed reports are incredibly helpful for tracking these things down.Thank you again for your patience and support. Now, go enjoy a much smoother cascade! All the best, JLau Studios

Based on fantastic community feedback, I've made some important adjustments to make the experience even better:Mantra Cost Rebalance: I've done a full balance pass on the Insight costs for many Mantras in the Stream of Memory. The goal was to make the meta-progression feel smoother and more rewarding, especially in the early game. Your journey to unlocking the full potential of The Cascade should feel more satisfying than ever.Minor Fixes: A handful of small bugs have been squashed and some audio cues have been polished to make everything feel just right.Celebrate With a Launch Discount! To thank you for your support and to welcome new players into the fold, Drifting Dots is launching with two special offers:A 20% Launch Discount! Patch v0.2a: Bug Fixes & Quality of Life Improvements

Hello everyone!Thank you so much for checking out the early versions of Drifting Dots and for all your valuable feedback. I've just pushed a small but important update, v0.2a, that addresses a few critical bugs. This patch is focused on fixing issues related to run progression and menu navigation to ensure a smoother and more consistent experience.Key Fixes in v0.2a:Fixed Global Cost Scaling Not Resetting: A major bug was causing the "Attunement Cost Scaling" to carry over between runs. This made subsequent runs unintentionally much harder. This has been fixed, and the scaling will now correctly reset to +0% at the start of every new run.Fixed Game Starting Paused in Pulse Mode: If a player quit a Pulse Mode run during the "Upgrade Phase" and then started a new run, the game would incorrectly start in a paused state. This has been resolved, and all new runs will now start correctly.Fixed Main Menu Disappearing: A bug was preventing the Main Menu from reappearing if the player used the Escape key to close the Mantras panel. The Escape key will now correctly and safely return you to the Main Menu from the Mantras screen.I'm continuing to work hard on balancing, new content, and polishing the game. Please keep the feedback coming—it's incredibly helpful! You can download the latest version now. I hope you enjoy it!
