Feed the Queen is an incremental strategy game where you build up a colony by gathering food, evolving specialized worker types, and chasing synergies between upgrades. The core loop involves optimizing production chains and prestige resets to feed an increasingly demanding Queen. The game has broad appeal—some players find the progression repetitive across multiple prestiges, while others report getting absorbed in its satisfying feedback loops and relaxing aesthetic for hours at a time.

Another hard gated prestige system.

Not much of a game. Do A, then B, then C, then game over.

0/5 - You'll find it somewhat enjoyable for the first prestige, it'll lose 50% of its enjoyment before the 2nd, and before you hit the 3rd you'll be ready to uninstall. Save your money.

It looked cute, thought I'd play for like half an hour or so and come back later.

Uhhh it's been almost 5 hours. Don't send help, I'm exactly where I wanna be.

For real though, this is insanely addictive. The art style is cute, the sounds are super satisfying, the music is wicked relaxing. I wanna keep playing and keep doing better. It's been well worth every dollar already! So much fun!

A cozy little strategy game that works surprisingly well on Steam Deck.

FEED THE QUEEN is one of those games I did not expect to enjoy this much.

On paper, it is a strategy incremental game about growing a colony, producing food, upgrading workers and feeding an ever hungrier Queen.

In practice, it is a cozy, charming and surprisingly relaxing experience with a very distinct visual style, a lovely soundtrack and that dangerous little feeling of "just one more upgrade".

The loop simply works. You start with a simple task and suddenly catch yourself optimizing food production, workers and upgrades longer than planned.

What I like

  • Unique and charming art style
  • Very cozy atmosphere
  • Beautiful soundtrack
  • The gameplay loop works really well
  • Relaxing, but still strategic enough to stay engaging
  • Worker upgrades and food synergies feel satisfying
  • Easy to understand, but still fun to optimize
  • 80 achievements, which honestly surprised me in the best way

Steam Deck thoughts

This was honestly the biggest surprise for me.

FEED THE QUEEN feels really good on Steam Deck. I got a little over 4 hours of battery life, the text is readable, and both controller input and the Steam Deck touchscreen work well.

That readability part surprised me the most. I usually increase UI or text size to 1.1x or 1.2x in other games, but here everything was readable for me without feeling uncomfortable.

Final thoughts

FEED THE QUEEN is charming, cozy and smarter than it first looks.

If you enjoy incremental games, colony management, synergies, achievements and relaxed optimization, this is absolutely worth a look.

In short: Feed the Queen, grow the colony, enjoy the cozy chaos.

Steam Summer Sale + Celebrating 50,000 players!

The Steam Summer Sale has begun!FEED THE QUEEN is 20% off for the next 14 days, until the 9th of July 2026.It's been exactly one month since release, and I am delighted to announce that FEED THE QUEEN has just reached 50,000 players!I want to express my gratitude to everyone who's purchased, played, streamed, reviewed, and shared the game. I never thought during the development of this project that it would end up reaching such a milestone. Watching you play and discuss FEED THE QUEEN has been an amazing experience and I am so so happy that the game has resonated with so many of you.So far since release, I have made different changes to address your feedback:multiple patches to address performance issues, improvements to the overall user experience and the addition of extra quality of life settings, tweaked certain mechanics to make the game more forgiving, in particular by making restarting a lot faster, and adjusting mid-way easier, in order to encourage experimentation, additional milestones in the late-game to give extra tools to players who want to try pushing for the highest possible food/min.I am still looking into changes to address the feedback of players getting "stuck" and feeling frustrated. I want to better communicate to the player that experimenting and learning the different mechanics, interactions, and synergies is a big part of the intended experience, and that there are always multiple viable paths to progress at every tier. Finally, I plan on supporting more languages in the future, as well as adding community items!Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your support! With love,Quiétude

patch 1.0.7

- The effects of "Two Suns" and "Terroir" do not require "Miracle" anymore to apply. - Removed possible infinite scaling from combining Rebirth and either Foragers or Secret Spot. - Changed the Queen icon used in the upgrades panel. - Updated Portuguese and Japanese translations.

patch 1.0.6 - More camera settings

- New setting to disable the camera panning and the upgrades panel switching buildings when purchasing a new building. - The upgrades panel no longer closes on level up if "Pan camera on level up" is disabled. - Further improvements to the save and back-up system. - Floating text is now better at displaying really large numbers, and won't hide the Cuisine as much. - New translations for the updated descriptions and the new settings. - "DELETE SAVE FILE" button is back in the settings menu (only available before hitting PLAY). - Visual camera buttons are now a bit smoother. - Fixed a bug that could stop trap production forever after Rebirth.
