Project V chains roguelike progression to a generational inheritance system where each death strengthens your bloodline through DNA upgrades. Between dungeon runs, you craft gear, brew potions, and collect relics while idle gains compound your power. The hook lies in uncovering what's orchestrating your evolution—a narrative tension that pairs satisfying incremental growth with the mystery of whether you're truly in control.

Not a bad idler. It starts off fairly interactive for the first 10-20 minutes, then quickly becomes something you put down for a while and come back to to increase some stats or craft some gear.

Music is fairly poor and the sound effects are as well. But considering how you'll likely have this idling in the background, no loss here. There really is also no plot to speak of. You are something which keeps killing things, dying, then starting over with some permanent currency, status boosts, gear, or potions.

There's really not much else to say. Check out the steam preview vids and the demo. That's pretty much it. You either like this genre, or you don't. As of now, its a nice addition.

Patch Notes v1.0.1

Patch Notes v1.0.1A small post-launch patch: a couple of fixes and some story-moment polish. Thanks for the reports!FixesHarvester's Scythe (Reaper): its Soul Harvest bonus now builds from kills landed by bleed / damage-over-time too. Previously those kills didn't count, so the scaling barely grew on bleed builds.Upgrades: fixed the 5K and 20K Tier-1 upgrades (Iron Reserve, Genetic Efficiency) disappearing from the Upgrades panel after maxing the earlier ones.Story & LoreStory moments now stay on screen longer and no longer get buried behind the death or keystone screens. they wait and play in full once you're back in the action. The combat log now dims while a story moment is showing (and the duplicate log line is gone) so the moment reads clearly. The Codex now groups lore into sections: Whispers, Journals, Memories, and Truths.Quality of LifeThe Dungeons panel now clearly shows when raising a dungeon's Challenge to Tier 2+ turns off its relic reward (and shifts later relic drops down a dungeon), a tooltip note plus a dimmed relic gem. Localized in all 26 languages.-Jabran

Gene Crawl: Dungeon Descent is OUT NOW!

Gene Crawl: Dungeon Descent is OUT NOW! After 7 months of solo development, it's finally here, and to celebrate, it's launching at -30% (under $5 / €5) for launch week only! What is it?An idle/incremental RPG built on a generational hook: every skill has a permanent DNA bar and a per-run bar that multiply together. You die, the run resets — but your DNA stays, so every generation crawls a little deeper. And there's a whole second mode: a turn-based, Slay-the-Spire-style roguelike deckbuilder — The Abyss — the hands-on counterpoint to the idle grind. Both modes, one game. No DLC, no paywall. Features Generational DNA progression — power that survives death Auto-combat through 28 dungeons A full roguelike deckbuilder mode (The Abyss) Skills, upgrades, relics, forge, brewery, lore, NG+ Tons of juice, effects, particles, screen-shake, the works Fully localized in 26 languages From me (the solo dev)I made this entirely on my own over the last 7 months. Seeing people actually play it has meant the world. If you enjoy it, leaving a review genuinely helps a tiny solo project more than you'd think. 👉 Grab Gene Crawl: Dungeon Descent now at -30%! Thank you for being here from the start. -Jabran

Play the Project V Demo NOW! (Die. Inherit. Evolve.)

Hey everyone! I am incredibly excited to announce that the first playable Demo for Project V is finally LIVE! You can download and play it right now directly from the store page. What awaits you in the Demo?Project V is a dark idle incremental where death is just part of the grind. The core philosophy is simple:Die. Inherit. Evolve. In this demo, you will get a taste of the core loop. You will be able to: Explore the early dungeons and fight creatures. Collect mysterious Relics to boost your power. Experience the DNA system: when you inevitably fall, pass down your traits to the next generation to come back stronger than ever! 🚨 MOST IMPORTANTLY: I need your feedback! Project V is nearing the end of its development cycle, BUT I NEED YOU TO BE CRITICAL AND EVEN HARSH to help me deliver the best game possible. Your feedback is absolutely vital. Are the early levels too hard? Is the UI confusing? Did you find a weird bug? Or maybe you just want to share your general thoughts and frustrations? Please let me know! You can share your thoughts in the comments down below, on the Steam Community discussions, or directly on my server: Join the Discord I honestly prefer a valid critique over a wishlist (even though I know wishlists are much needed for the "success" of a game). But if the end product sucks, it doesn't matter if I have 30 or 4,000 wishlists—they won't save the game. I want to make this game good (not like the other one that got obliterated for my mistakes). If you want to support me and stay posted on the game's development, consider following me on my socials: YouTube Twitter / X TikTok Instagram Have fun, and "happy grinding!" - Jabran
