Idle & Incremental Lovers recommends Downsizing.exe:
The satire and environmental storytelling are top notch. The clicker/incremental part, all about keeping a delicate balance while being distracted by various things, is stressful and not very fun.
+ Full of reminiscences of Faceminer, as they are both great incremental games in terms of satire and environmental storytelling.
+ Worth mentionning is that the stressful gameplay and the boring and repetitive tasks (as explained below) may be seen as a part of the satire: what you are doing makes no sense, and you take life-changing decisions for human beings in a heartbeat (or while playing snake/minesweeper). I'm pretty sure the dev had this in mind when creating the game.
+ There are challenges and higher difficulties if you want to go further once you finished the game. I didn't feel the urge to.
- Core gameplay is about maintaining balance between higher-up satisfaction (aka dismissing employees) and dealing with the complaints (they don't like to be fired, how strange!) and whistleblowers, but upgrades are a bit boring.
- While doing that, you have windows popping up asking you to deal with situations, but it's pretty stressful, in most situations you don't even have the time to read and make an informed choice. of the time you d
Overall, if you're here for a good game, absolutely buy it! If you're here for the awesome upgrades and cozy nature of most incremental games, maybe you should reconsider.
