Demo Week One - The Numbers and What's Changing
34 days agoThe PSYCHOBYL demo has been live for a week. Here's what happened and what's changing because of it.The Numbers- 1,100+ downloads- Median session: 1 hour 16 minutes- 54% of players spent over an hour- 25% spent over five hours- Steam's own dashboard flags this as "well above average" for demosHonestly didn't expect that. Thank you. What Players Told UsThree separate people raised the same problem from different angles: inventory pressure. Crafting materials were eating most of the space, and auto-raid stops the moment the bag fills. One player framed it best, the issue wasn't storage size, it was that everything competes for the same slots. Alongside that, a few people asked for quality-of-life improvements around the perk tree. What's Changing• Inventory- Crafting materials now take up half a slot, each frees roughly a third of your inventory immediately- Sorting by slot usage added• Perks- Search added to the perk tree, over a hundred nodes, finding a specific one shouldn't be a scavenger hunt- Perk descriptions rewritten to be clearer about what each one actually does• Quality of life- Rarity filter coming to the crafting tab- Conditional auto-raid rules (ammo restock, consumable handling) added to the Early Access roadmapFor ContextHideout facilities cap at tier 10 in the demo. In the full game they go to 30, across 33 different facilities. There's a lot sitting behind the demo's level cap.Haven't Tried It Yet?The demo is free on the store page, 3 to 4 hours of content if you play through it properly. The feedback thread is open if something bothers you, and every post gets read.Early Access launches November 2026.— Boris & BaishaBoisha Games
