Not a fan of idle games normally, but this one spoke to me because of the retro feel and i miss vhs shops. It's good, I really want to complete and decorate my store. Recommend!
Burnt out on live service and comp games and just wanted something chill, this really scratched the itch. Basically a perfect game to play while watching YouTube lol
8 Months of solo indie devI'd like to start by saying thank you for the support and interest in the game, it's been a busy 8 months building Tiny Tape Store part-time. I wanted to do something outside of my comfort zone, I've never done pixel art games before and really wanted to explore the style. I've also never done a simulator/idle/store type game but really wanted to get my feet wet. In the same motion, I've grown to love idler games like Rusty's Retirement and Ropuka's Idle Island and thought it would be a great combination with my love for retro VHS. It's been an awesome journey so far and I've fallen in love with the simplicity of pixel-art, take it lightly, it's definitely not simple, but it's been humbling to draw and animate art at 16x16 pixels. The idea for Tiny Tape Store came from past experiences going to "video stores" with my family/friends and renting out movies for a weekend. I truly miss that feeling and wanted to capture this memory in a game so that I will never forget it.What happens now?I'm sure there will be bugs creeping out of nowhere, that will be my main priority for the coming weeks. I'll focus my energy towards fixing issues and then there will be another free content update which will include a bunch of new shop decorations. If there's a decoration you'd like to see in the game, post them here so I can hopefully bring them into the game. Thank you again, I appreciate all the support!Slakkedis
