I'm a sucker for gambling roguelites so decided to give this a try even though it had zero reviews. Long story short: It's not great which isn't a deal breaker for $3. The bigger issue is the obvious corner cutting like why is my portrait super detailed while everyone else at the table is a glorified stick figure? That's just weird and puzzling in an age where you can generate a collection of similar portraits in a matter of seconds. Also, the lazy implementation of the pixelated graphics make it difficult to read important text or even see the card faces. Several times I wasn't sure what suit I was looking at because, for example, hearts and diamonds both look like a red blob.
If anyone else is like me and looking at this store page out of curiosity, give this a pass until the price drops to the 99 cent range or the devs roll out some patches to fix some of the issues I detailed above. Currently this is not worth $3.99

Latest updates
Hey, everyone! So, cutting right to the chase, we got more reviews, and we now know what to work on next. The following are in QA and will likely be live in the next 3 days: New Resolution config in the OPTIONS menu (both in-game and main menu). The card faces have been updated, along with some pixel art for the J, Q, and K ranks. Hopefully, once we reach a certain number of sales, I can commission someone to do pixel art for those (and for the animations in-between venues as well). Here are the old card faces along with the redrawn versions (both high-res and low-res).
Clearer UI & cards — sharper text, redesigned suit icons, easier-to-read card faces Proper opponent art — full portrait gallery at the table, tiered by venue, with polished seat layout fixes
Hey all,Thanks to our very first review (negative, but constructive and fair), we have our very first patch in QA right now. So, what is it about? Basically, it's the first of 2 main things the reviewer mentioned: Lack of readability for cards and UI text.Originally, the way we opted to achieve the pixelated retro look was to have a sub-1024 canvas and scale it up, but that made certain parts hard to read, so we are increasing the game canvas and being more deliberate about the parts of the UI that get to retain the pixelated look. Also, the bitmaps that render the card suits have been reworked from simple 10x10 to 23x23 (the odd number makes for better and sharper symmetry).Hopefully, we get to keep the look while also improving your ability to clearly read your character's powers and your hole cards. Please, even if it's negative, feel free to hit us with more feedback. We are eager to take this journey with you all into a better game that speaks to what you guys would like to experience.Thank you!
