Hi everyone, Juanmao here. The trailer on the store page has been updated, and it's all footage from the development build. So here's a progress recap: the main changes in the development build compared with the current public Demo. To be clear: all of this is in the development build and not in the Demo you can download now. There's no date yet for when you'll be able to play it, and details may still change. Campaign: a three-layer map The Campaign now has three map layers: the Epoch map, the Chapter Map and a side-scrolling zone map. You can drag and zoom, and switching maps has a transition. The Battle Log is now a big horizontal page too. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/16cec0f4c81f335006069b97dc8a8bdc13988867.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/54bd998ad83dfb1208834909629385cc77f6ffa5.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/55b9de705534254dba94c0a827fd6fc3efc0f199.jpg Story The main campaign now has a full story: Chapters 1 to 20 plus an ending, with cutscene illustrations and dialogue before and after battles that you can skip at any time. The prologue has been redone as "The Northern Fortress · The Last Night". Your heroes also say a line when a fight starts, when you lose, and when they join. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/b6be9e4ad1c7d5e7802a93beb4b540ad00a38159.jpg Recruiting and growth After stage 100, low-star heroes are recruited at the Tavern with Era Recruit Tickets, and guarantees are there too. Rank Up is now a single card that can take a hero straight to the max, and there's "Rank Up All"; enhancement stays on the slot, so swapping gear doesn't reset it. A new "Heroes" flag in the navigation bar takes you to your heroes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/7b31496e53b5ce1ce96f2e74f7c4c53a19887d2e.jpg Guardian Spirits Getting and raising Guardian Spirits has been reorganized: spirit eggs from the main campaign go first to deployed spirits that aren't fully grown, pushing through the campaign gives you new guardian spirits, Epoch trials let you trade for Legendary spirit eggs...
Hi everyone, Juanmao here. Since the Demo update on October 23, a lot has changed in the development build. Some of it reworks how things used to work, and some of it is brand new and hasn't come up before. Here's all of it in one go. One thing first: everything below is still a work in progress and isn't in the Demo you can download right now. Campaign: a three-layer map The Campaign now has three layers: the Epoch Map, the Chapter Map, and a side-scrolling zone map. You can drag and zoom the Epoch Map, so there's finally a proper world map. When you clear a stage and move on to the next map, there's a transition: both armies fade out, ink spreads across the screen, and the new map rolls in. The battle report is now a big horizontal page that lines up how much damage everyone dealt. https://clan.akamai.steamstatic.com/images/46216320/bee7378b69aada9b5cce923ff028e1362518bc60.jpg Tavern: low-star heroes are recruited here now After stage 100, low-star heroes no longer drop from stages. You recruit them at the Tavern instead. The Tavern refreshes its list every hour, and you hire from it with Era Recruit Tickets. Tickets drop from stages and can also be bought and sold at the Market. Guarantees have moved into the Tavern too, with a guarantee board. You can set a legendary hero as your Guarantee Target right from their details, check guarantee progress in the Campaign, and tap it to jump straight to the Tavern. Hero growth: fewer clicks Rank Up: it used to take one click per rank plus two page switches. Now it's a single card with a stat chart you can read at a glance, and you can go up one rank or straight to the max. The Hero Roster also has a new "Rank Up All" button that ranks up everyone who can. Levels: from Epoch 3 on, level follows rank. Rank up and you're at max level, with no more spending XP one level at a time. Enhancement: it used to live on the gear, so switching items meant enhancing all over again. Now you enhance the slot, so you can swap gear freely ...
Hi everyone, Juanmao here. The Demo has another update, and it's free to download on Steam for both Windows and macOS. This one mainly covers three things: the prologue, the battle visuals, and stutter. Prologue: two fights, no choices The prologue for new saves no longer has any choices. You go straight into two battles. In the first, the screen pauses for a beat when someone fires an ultimate, and enemies flash a warning before they cast a skill, so it's easier to see who's about to act. The second battle... well, the boss wipes out the whole party in one move, and the five legends are scattered. Only after that fight does the tutorial properly begin. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/80218ff3baea89c598884e0f73f5e5159edca366.jpg Battle visuals: easier to read HP and morale bars now use a paper-tag style. You'll get a cue when a shield is about to break, and you can see it shatter. The Paladin now gets up close and bashes enemies with a shield. Status effects have been redone, characters have a soft shadow at their feet, and hover tooltips now look like parchment. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46216320/26f808ed1290159ab6284b53f578bd6c628a0a9d.jpg Less stutter This update reduces stutter when loading after a long time offline, in late-game battles, and when you continue your game. Fixed Completing a Legendary Seal showed no feedback. Quality badges in the socket list overlapped names. An extra sound effect occasionally played. Boss battle HP bars sometimes failed to appear. If anything feels off while you play, let me know in the comments. A screenshot helps me track it down. If you think it's not bad, I'd really appreciate it if you added the game to your wishlist. Thank you all. It genuinely matters for a game. Play the free Demo | Wishlist the full game
