One problem I have with Minesweeper is that here we are, only in the second paragraph, and I feel like I've already overused the word. Maybe it's just too long of a word to be used that frequently, but what are the alternatives? If we abbreviate it to MS, then it sounds like we are talking about Microsoft or multiple sclerosis, so that's not going to work. I guess there's nothing I can do about it, but I'll try to be more vague to avoid using "that word" again.
So, in Hazard Lights Games latest, and apparently only, title, you play a classic, grid based game about figuring out, through logic and blind faith, where hidden bombs are placed on a classic grid based grid. I think you know what I'm talking about, wink wink.
What is extra here though? Several of us are very familiar with the original grid bomb finding game, and want something more. Well, I'll tell you!
This being also an incremental game, as well as a classic grid etc., there are powerups to buy, and then lose when you ascend, to start over and buy again. The thing that sets this game apart from similar ones is that you play in different zones that have different types of tiles. The ice area, for example, has frozen tiles that don't break in a cascade, only when you click them. Overall, it's a solid entry to the venerable genre, and totally worth the little bit they are asking for it.
You know, I think I did it. Made it through without using that word again. But it taunts me, almost a dare.
"Say my name."
