Alright, so let me break it down for you.

For some reason I've been addicted to Idle Games lately. As you can tell by my hours in WAMI, NGU Idle, and Territory Idle.

After 1252 active hours I can easily say that Territory Idle is not an Idle Game. Hands down. The only way "idle" applies to this game is if you have to go to work or out on a run and you turn on an autoclicker to constantly cast rituals to raise your abdication bonus.

Otherwise, this game does not progress unless you pay constant attention to it and attend to it. I am not kidding. The early game is a slog and I wish the dev would implement some changes to help people stick with the game. Once you sail away a few times, however, the game really picks up and becomes a blast. The strategy behind the religions is great; the feeling of becoming powerful and progressing is obvious; all around, this game is a blast if you can make it through early game. Give it a try! If after you acquire the Wise Frog religion and the game still isn't for you, it is likely not your cup of tea.

Edit 8-22-2020: So I am at the end of the game now and have acquired all mutations. There is nothing else after this point from what I can tell. Still worth playing but kind of disappointed.

While the organizational design is somewhat innovative, the game is lacking in both content and media, while already having a heavily incentivized microtransaction model. This isn't a far cry from the developer's previous Idler 'Realm Revolutions', which to be frank also incorporated microtransactions very early into it's development, and hasn't really changed much at all.

Hard to recommend in it's current state.

Edit: The game seems to have popped back up into the new F2P titles in the Steam store today. I can only see a bugfix (for the bugfix?) in the game's updates, it doesn't look like any additional content as added that I can discern.

Cool in concept, terrible in execution. The grind quickly becomes incredibly slow.. Slower than it should be for even an idle game, just to convince you to spend money sooner.
