Pendelum is a physics-based puzzle platformer centered on manipulating a weighted pendulum through gravity and environmental forces to reach each level's goal. The game offers a substantial campaign to master, a robust level editor for creating and sharing custom puzzles, and leaderboards for competing against other players. It appeals to those seeking deliberate, skill-based challenges rather than twitch reflexes.

This is addicting, the good way

A great game, it has a wide variety of levels already in the game to play offline and train your skills. You will need these to break your and other peoples records. You can go bonkers with the level editor, a fabulous tool to sink in for hours and then challenge people online to beat your levels - the only limit is your imagination, and skill.
The game is challenging in just the right way to be motivating and frustrating at once. I cant recommend this game enough, espacially to people that like puzzle and physics games will be able to spend many, many hours in this.
Furthermore the co-op is perfect to see how much you and your friends can work together. The soundtrack is great, its not annoying, even after a long session.

I really like this game and look forward to hopefully see some of you soon on there!

Pendelum is such a neat concept. Although I admittedly don't have much experience with physics-based puzzle games, I've never played anything like it. The level design is quite good, in general. I liked the feeling of simply moving the pendulum (as it has a certain weight to it), and in trying to maintain enough height to maneuver with some precision. I decided to pick up Pendelum so that my co-op partner and I could play through the three sets of levels designed specifically for co-op play.

However, I do have a few gripes. First of all, it's just a bit too punishing for my tastes. Levels come in sets of four, and if you don't complete the whole set in one go, you'll have to start again from the first one in the set (even if you've made it to the final level). There are also no checkpoints in the levels themselves. This omission is more forgivable - however, some of the levels are quite long. My co-op partner and I failed repeatedly on the penultimate level within the second set of co-op levels, and then put the game down until the following week. We picked it back up again, made it to the final level, but again failed repeatedly until we became exhausted with the game.

When you play a level as many times as we did, certain things begin to grate. The pleasant & chipper music becomes obnoxious, you realize how some of the levels require one player to just sit around while the other performs a task (rather than playing simultaneously), and you notice how certain level obstacles can be a bit unpredictable (like the rows of fans). When you fail when navigating obstacles like this, it can be difficult to tell exactly what you've done wrong.

I can't say that we didn't enjoy at least some of our time with Pendelum, but I think we would have been more persistent if it were easier to put it down and pick it back up later, and if we could more quickly and easily try the most challenging sections of various levels.

Approaching New Looks

QOL Update - Before we get to the new gameplay content, there is now a major graphical update, so we are upgrading directly to version 1.1 with a new look and feel! + Complete overhaul of textures and models + Partial (still expandable) modernisation of the UI + Some sounds replaced to adapt to the new visuals ~ Physics of the pendulum and some colliders adapted to the new look. It is now unfortunately possible that some community maps no longer work as desired. With this new content in the wings, hopefully we can finally tackle Chapter 2 and the still broken Versus mode soon! Until then - happy swinging!

1.0c0 - Quality of Life

QOL Update - Yes, we still exist, and YES, there will be new content soon. But before this, let me introduce some minor Quality-Of-Life-Changes that we made so far before any further content will be targeted: Added progress buffer to the main games sections. Now mid-section progress will be saved and you won't have to play the whole thing again if you wish to take a break Extended community map time filtering to "always" and added scroll pagination. Now there will be maps from.... long ago Added mouse movement related map selection navigation Adjusted level selection to a more stable button selection system Map selection navigator now automatically recognizes Mouse / Keyboard navigation mode Removed pagination buttons in the map selection screen I am well aware of any problems that the "Versus" mode is facing right now, and I will target those in the future. But for now there are more important things for me to maintain. Until then - swing your thing!

Pendelum is here!

Dear pendulists, After some amount of work and a lots of testing garnished with a few adjustments and bug fixes, the time has finally come - Pendelum opens its gates to the whole wide world! With version 1.0a0 the game is now officially part of the big universe of the Steam Store and we're finally ready to go! I don't want to waste a lot of words on things that everyone in the game should explore for themselves - but I'd like to mention a few things first about the release: Updates Of course, the release of this version doesn't end the work there - I will continue to provide updates for this game. A couple of things I'm planning on right now: Chapter II - More Maps, More Content (including new elements and gameplay mechanics) Removal of the storage space limit for community maps (currently 20KB, a map has approx. 1-3KB) Quality-Of-Life-Improvements - For example full controller support, skins / layouts, more achievements, map rewarding system (e.g. star ratings or similar) and other things that come to mind OR being suggested and approved Bugfixes & Balancing - I need your help on that one! Feel free to use the community hub to submit tips or suggestions for improving Pendelum. Website Shamefully I haven't gotten around building a decent website for Pendelum yet - but I'll tackle this project shortly. The website should not only become a simple presentation platform for the game, but also an interface for game management. Players can log in to the website via Steam and then manage custom maps, leaderboards and much more. Stay tuned! Localization I would like to add a few more languages to the game. These include French, Dutch and Russian, at least primarily. However, since this process takes time, this will be a secondary project. That should be it for now - I wish you a lot of fun and a good swing! Lukas A. Schopf thelaumix
