StreamSavers layers an idle RPG onto your desktop, transforming open applications into enemies that your collected heroes automatically battle while you work or stream. You recruit from a roster of 256 defenders and watch them level up passively, with Twitch chat able to influence the chaos unfolding in a corner overlay. It's best suited for streamers and multitaskers who want a low-attention fantasy battle running alongside their workflow.

After some initial troubleshooting, I was able to enjoy these fun and well coloured sprites across the screen. make sure you save before you close and Load again to recover your characters levels! The creator was unimaginably fast with some help, making short work of any problems I did have. I will be showcasing this to some friends and seeing how they may like having some stream savers on feed for fun and interactive laughs!
I was given as a gift and would have bought, had I been streaming sooner.
Give them a chance and you will not be disappointed
It's kind of fiddly to setup however after tweaking at the settings for a bit I have finally been able to get it working. For anyone getting stuck on how to get it fully working, watch the Youtube tutorials or read the hotfix updates.
We’re excited to ship StreamSavers Desktop in Early Access. We’ve completely rewritten the game. The original ran on GameMaker Studio 2 with PNG sequence animation. The new version is a from-scratch engine: your desktop is the game world. The game runs as a transparent, always-on-top overlay. Heroes fight waves, hatch from eggs, equip loot, and level up while you use your PC. Progress through five zones from Desktop Wastes to Void Kernel, with 100+ collectible characters, 46 egg variants, spells, quest chains, and full equipment and inventory.Every character you unlock, also unlocks each of their limbs, weapons, and shields as parts for the character creator! Over 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 (256^8) combinations! What makes this build different:• Desktop as the arena: The game lives on your desktop. No fullscreen takeover; it sits on top and stays out of the way. • App enemies: Running Windows apps can spawn enemies based on their icons. Your taskbar and open apps feed the world. • Twitch-ready: Chat appears in-world, emotes become attackable entities, and viewers can use \!enemy\ to spawn foes. OBS browser-source mode is built in. • Single EXE: One portable Windows executable. No installer; run it from anywhere. This Early Access build is a focused slice: core idle loop, tutorial (phases 0–2), shop, quests, and save/load with backups. We’ll add more systems (camp, bounties, formation, prestige, etc.) in regular updates based on your feedback.Thank you for being here at the start. If you run into bugs or have ideas, please tell us in the discussions—your input will shape what we do next.- The StreamSavers Team
We finally hired another programmer and have lots of new stuff on the books! We've upgraded the in-game UI, as well as improved game feel. We've also added a few new commands for the new launch, updating the !bomb and !coindrop! Expect lots more soon! WE'RE BACK, BABY!
Pending Release 0.3.2 Added new Streamer chat functions. Only the channel owner can use these. !buy - Buy an egg using chat. !togglebubbles - Toggle chat bubbles on/off. !togglenameenemies - Toggles naming enemies after chatters on/off. !save - Saves the game. !load - Loads the game. Chat messages will now come from the @StreamSavers Twitch bot by default. OAuth codes no longer required for users during setup, only your channel name. Custom bot names/accounts still supported. If you would like to use your own username or bot account, you can use the settings menu to add those the same way as before. Note: If you have follower-only mode on, you may need to /mod the StreamSavers account before using to allow it to post to chat, but commands will still work in-game. Added "Use StreamSavers Bot" option to Twitch settings menu. @StreamSavers bot will now directly mention the chatter who used the command. Language menu temporarily disabled (custom chat commands) in favor of an option to automatically translate the game into different languages. Custom commands will likely return in a future update.
