Idle TD: Heroes vs Zombies pairs tower defense strategy with idle mechanics, letting you deploy heroes with synergistic abilities against endless zombie waves while upgrading gear and technologies offline. The game emphasizes tactical hero placement and long-term progression systems, though reviews note it closely resembles the developer's earlier title and relies heavily on premium currency purchases for balanced gameplay.

** The developer not only read all the negative reviews but he decided not to address any of the issues noted and instead talked ♥♥♥♥ about everyone who gave negative reviews with his mod team. The many issues in the game aside, the toxicity from the developer and mod team is absolutely another reason to avoid supporting them.

-The developer paid in game paid currency (gems) to everyone who gave a 5 star rating on Steam, Android, and IOS. That alone speaks on just how bad this game is. (You can check discord, he was posting all over to get more 5* reviews since no one would give them otherwise)

So here we are again with another disgusting cash grab hidden behind a slow paced "idle" game. How do I know? Because I've played his older game IMtd and the closed beta for this one.

Idle refers to progressing while youre not playing, however in this game to get Idle rewards beyond 4 hours... you need to PAY to unlock it.

Oh you can also pay for:
- Permanent Damage boost
- Permanent Gold Boost
- Permanent Game speed increase (you can also unlock it after a few days of heavy grinding for currency, this is DECENT)
- Permanent hero unlock increases
- Permanent Prestige Boosts
- Permanent Ad removal, (or watch ads every 5 minutes for minor in game boosts)
- Daily packs totally over $60, yes massive daily packs to try to get you to pay constantly, and they are on the main screen, YOU CANNOT REMOVE THEM, these packs are constantly thrown at you to buy, Buy, BUy, BUY! Its absolutely insane.
- Oh also there's a bi-weekly tournament and guess what? The TOP players unlock bonus achievements for permanent stat increases, guess what? You can PAY for boosts during each tournament!
The cash grab in this game is insane and honestly almost unbelievable. I've never seen a game so desperate to get your hard earned money.
- The DEVELOPER also straight up says in the discord that game is a cash grab. This game doesn't let you buy a tournament boost during the first tournament, when asked by a player during early access the developers response was: "It's to not scare away new players with a p2w mechanic need to get them hooked by playing for a few days before they see such evils." (I'm interested to see if he will remove it now that ive mentioned it in this review, its all good, i took a screenshot so I can always post it if he removes it from the discord)

- Why am writing all this? Quite simple, these cash grab games are an absolute atrocity to good developers everywhere and the monetization is disgusting. MAYBE, just MAYBE others will see this and not play in hopes he might change this to a decent idler because YES ABSOLUTELY it DOES have potential, but not in its current rediculous p2w state.

- If you enjoy actual Idle games theres tons that are far better on steam and Android/IOS for you to play, if you enjoy throwing tons of money at a game for who knows what reason then perhaps this IS the game for you.

Sadly this is only a reskin of Idle Monster TD, but sadly worse.

At the core the game is nice and could be fun, like the games before. But if you own one of the previous games, there is no actual reason to upgrade to this. Yet again you MUST buy all the premium packs (which is roughly $75 - including the unlimited offline perk instead of 4 hours only). The game is balanced around that. If you do not opt in into these packs, its still playable, but the grind is just not fun anymore.

Also if you compare the premium stuff and upgrade features from the preview game to this, everything has been nerfed quite hard. You also don't get an upgrade of your towers with new cards directly, you need more and more, which is why we have new upgrades for "more towers per gacha".

I would TOTALLY play this and support the sh*t out of it, if it was a $20 game with no inapp stuff. It would be a brainless buy, but the monetization just kills the game out.

Here is also a quote from the discord, where the dev himself explains that this game is nothing more than a reskin with a few different feats and extras, nothing special.

Idle Monster TD News:
I apologize for the lack of updates in the past couple months. I've been hard at work on a new project, which has been taking up all of my development time lately. Finally, this new project is nearly complete, and I can get back to some of the planned updates for IMTD. The to-do list has grown quite large! There's some real fun new features planned (such as Pets), as well as tons of QoL improvements, performance improvements, and bug fixes. I'll keep you guys updated as I get back to work on these things!

This is the new project I've been working on. It's essentially a remake/reskin of Idle Monster TD. Many of the mechanics are very similar. However, there are still some major differences and improved mechanics around hero skills, upgrades, and the overall balance and pacing of the game. If you liked IMTD, I think you will certainly like this new zombie apocalypse themed remake.

Although this game will appear incredibly similar to IMTD, it was not a simple copy and paste job with different artwork. It was actually rebuilt from the ground up in a much more careful and organized way than IMTD. For that reason, this new game runs incredibly smooth. There's tons of new QoL improvements that couldn't be implemented in IMTD, it can run smoothly at +2500% game speed, and it uses almost no CPU. It also has real offline progress! You can actually progress waves, and earn resources other than gold (like blocks and kill exp) while the game is closed. There are several other nice-to-have and highly suggested features like this included as well.

This brings me to my final point - I need beta testers! The game is in a fully playable state, and should be totally bug-free. However, I can only test so much on my own, and am limited to testing on my own few devices. The more eyes on it - the better. I'd greatly appreciate any of you who'd like to try the game out early!

If you'd like to be a beta tester, please DM me and inform me of what platform you'd like to play on (Android/iOS/Steam), and I'll provide you with instructions on how to join the beta. There are limited testing slots available for each platform.

Look forward to more announcements soon with progress on the upcoming Idle Monster TD updates, as well as news about the new Idle TD: Heroes vs Zombies game!

Also, here have a list of all ingame purchases: https://imgur.com/a/l1U3nv2

On top of those from the mobile screenshots there is the unlimited offline feature where you get progress rewards while the game is not running for $5, the bi-weekly tournament perk for $5 which you need if you have a leaderboard fetish and a $5 pack which you need to buy every 30 days if you want double daily rewards.)
Instead of Ad-Free on PC we get the Ad-Reward thingy double as often to tap/click.

If anyone is masochistic and gifts me the Iapps from the game, I will gladly add some lategame infos and how much its worth of an upgrade if you want to keep playing.

I wanted to like this game. I did. But it's basically a reskin of another game from the developer, and to be completely honest.. the old game was better. :/

Really not much else to say because the other reviews already have all the information about what's wrong with this one. If you want to play a free game that can give you a few hundred hours of enjoyment (while ignoring the "LIMITED TIME OFFER" bull) then go ahead and download this one... just guard your wallet with your life. This is a developer to avoid supporting financially until he figures out that crappy mobile game ports aren't appreciated on Steam.

And TBiz? Just in case you actually read this some day... Offering incentive for positive reviews is the ultimate cry for help for any publisher or developer. The moment I read your offer you lost all respect I had for you, built up as Idle Monster TD continued providing me enjoyment over several months. I hope you learn your lesson soon, and either go back to focusing on appealing to mobile players, or start providing a PC game experience to your Steam users.

PS Those prices are outrageous.

Moved the Leaderboards Appearance menu from the Settings menu to the main Leaderboards panel. Also improved it to clearly show the bonuses you're earning from leaderboard icons and titles. Rearranged the Spells menu. Bug Fixes: Fixed critical bug where leaderboards would sometimes not load correctly, preventing you from collecting your PvP Tournament rewards. Fixed bug where the PvP Tournament leaderboard may not correctly update your score at the last second right before it ends.
