Summary (small spoiler):
Cepheus Protocol is a visual novel where we follow multiple characters, from the government agency directors, the military, and even citizens throughout 12 chapters/episodes. Through their perspective, we see how the Chinese weaponize a stolen virus from outer space known as the Pangu Virus, against the United State of America.
Story:
I know nothing about Cepheus Protocol, but after finishing this game I became a big fan of the series. Even though I'm not planning on playing the previous the story was nicely paced as we get to know about the characters' personalities, interests, and aspirations making me, at least care about them even if most of them don't last long, seriously, each chapter can be adapted into an hours TV episode, it's that good. They even made the virus unique and out of this world, no pun intended, it is like no other zombie manifestation I have seen before, as it uses the infested personal mental struggle against themselves, that much I would explain. The only criticism I have was the last 3 chapters were shorter than the other ones.
Voice Acting:
I can't just talk about the writing without talking about the voice narrator, Rachael Messer (if I’m getting the name right), she did an excellent job with the voice work by managing to speak the mind of multiple characters ranging from young, and old, as well as delivering from intense, desperate and humane expression. Half the time while I was reading listening to this visual novel I forgot this was narrated by one person, I felt spoiled for how well they depicted every character in this story, even if there were a few hiccups with sentences and phrases being repeated now and then, but that's just a few nitpicks.
Art:
Other than just being fulling voice-acted, it is also fully illustrated with sketching and mundane art style with a hint of bronze and blue during calm moments in contrast to red being used to emphasise the violence of the infested, where more colours were used to show how the virus is not from this world, literally.
Conclusion:
It had taken me quite a while to construct this review after over a month of playing this game because to wanted to take the time to praise it for all the things it got right for being one of my top visual novels or even games in general. I hope the second season could make it to that list as well, I like to thank all of the creators that worked on this game, you all did an excellent job and I'm happy to wait to see more.

I'm starting Chapter 4 and so far, so good! The voice actress does a great job and has a flexible voice, you can tell who's speaking by tone. The writing is also great, even though I have seen a few errors here and there. Nothing major, and the voiceover seems to fix these issues.
Chapter 2 made me very sad. I hope we get the chance to fill General Fa Lei with lead, either in Cepheus Protocol or in some future installment.
