Halloween Memory: Reborn

"Halloween Memory - Reborn" is a simple memory game for kids. If you've seen one memory game you've seen them all I guess so I'll spare you the details.

However, it's also an asset flip. It's simply Halloween Memory HTML5 Game 14 Levels + Mobile Version originally made by Muscle-SS which has been built and released on Steam without any kind of improvement or modification at all. Even the "Reborn" moniker is nowhere to be seen in-game, which is no surprise, as this is already the second time this template game has been flipped by the same person. The first time it got removed from Steam so here it is again, just rebranded under a new "developer".

With only 14 short levels the game is nowhere near being worth the 7 bucks the "developer" asks, and it's also not worth the price I paid (at 90% off). In comparison the asset pack they used is only $18 ...

It's also not the only game this person has flipped (the bundle gives them away even though every game is released under a different dev/publisher, likely to confuse Steam) so they are a serial scammer. Beware and don't spend any money on these games!

Halloween Memory Reborn is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", freeanygame/halloweenreborn, took the Halloween Memory tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Muscle-SS, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work.

This developer uses considerable array of sockpuppet Steam accounts (created to attempt to hide his trail and further mislead gamers about his asset flip scamming and unethical activities):

freeanygame/halloweenreborn have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Halloween Memory" is just a basic mobile app/"Memory" card matching game, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so a copy+paste of it can't be recommended.

Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off.

Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers.

Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from freeanygame/halloweenreborn.
