Darwin's Aquarium tasks you with selectively breeding fish to discover new species while training neural networks to control their behavior, combining genetics and AI mechanics into one educational sandbox. The game leans heavily on experimentation, though early access currently lacks sufficient guidance for newcomers. Best suited for players interested in AI and evolutionary systems who don't mind rougher interfaces.

I really, really, really want to like this game. But, at this time, I cannot recommend it. I do not plan on refunding, as I look forward to seeing where it goes from here. That being said, I know it is in alpha, but I was really hoping it would be in a more playable state. It really needs to have a tutorial of some sort at the very least.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HQ9dKxfWwAAFt4n?format=jpg&name=medium This update adds a water quality system to the fish tanks. The various water chemistry parameters are influenced by and in turn affect various add-ons and fish in the tank. The parameters can be monitored by selecting a tank and then clicking on the water chemistry button on the top right.
