Dead Profit tasks you with manufacturing enchanted weapons for a supernatural war effort through a cycle of mining, crafting, and enchanting to meet timed orders. The core loop revolves around endless production upgrades and optimization paired with randomly generated contracts, though the early-access build remains sparse with placeholder features. It's designed for players who enjoy minimalist idle mechanics and incremental progression systems, though expect limited content in its current state.

I bought the game and spent a few hours in. Since it's in early access, I thought it was okay. But the latest update is too much for me.

Dev seems to have no idea where his game is going. Half of this game is just... placeholders for "later update" but dev is asking the community to give some idea for the game. When an update is released, there is more and more empty features with "Will add the rewards later".

And now he is telling us that he will raise the price tag later ?
Does he realise that his game is actualy more empty than every free part of every idle/clicker free to play games ?

@Dev : Please, focus on adding content and balance actual content rather that just adding placeholders again and again and tell us that you will later raise the prize.

There's early-access minimalist casual games - then there's this.
8/10, made me enjoy cleaning the dishes. Don't buy it.

The aptly named 'Dead Profit' fulfils the absolute minimum requirements to be classified as software. It roughly approximates a game. In purchasing this Skinner Box, you will experience:

- A gameloop that will addle your brain, yet provide just enough dopaminergic activity to keep those now deficient brain cells pressing buttons.
- 20 minutes of purchasing upgrades that make no difference to gameplay.
- Watch your money continue to rise, cursed with the rapidly dawning knowledge that it can't be spent on anything
- "Just One More Turn", as you commit to complete another order. Not because you want to. But because now you must.
- Progressively demanding orders. There's no real difference between them, but some will arbitrarily take 9 times as many resources for a marginal increase in value. Consequently, hold your head in your hands when you receive a 'Soulfrite Acid Bow' order, and bathe in waves of relief from a 'Mezmizote Frost Swords' order. Push the following realisation to the furthest depths of your mind: that the most rewarding experience so far has been the game giving you less game to play.
- The sweet relief of completing order 40 and unlocking Factions.
- Choose your favourite waifu. Doesn't matter which one you pick, but you can customise which of the primary colours is registered in your visual cortex when you open the faction menu.
- Visit the faction shop to see nothing can be bought with your valueless money, nor sold to increase your valueless money. This will be the fridge you hopelessly and compulsively check for new sustenance while enjoying your previously selected coloured bulb.
- A renewed appreciation for other games in your Steam library.

Dead Profit does have some genuinely redeeming features, which I now share without any sarcasm or flippancy:
- Everything else I have to do today seems a lot more enjoyable now.
- I thoroughly enjoyed writing this review.

All that said, the game does have a solid foundation to grow from, assuming the dev is genuinely invested in this title.

However... Given that this title reached early access at this stage in the development, I don't have much hope in that. It's one to watch, but don't buy it yet.

Cool concept, and very great for such an early release. I've obviously unlocked pretty much everything already, but I know there will be more content in the future. For the next release I would like to see windowed mode as well as a way to disable sounds. There is also an issue where my antivirus tries to block the game. I would look into that if I were you :) I will update my review when you later update the game.

Hey Guys, Been a while but a new version has just released cleaning up the ui and adding some features The mining of resources have been changed so that the node has a weak spot that means mining the right part will harvest quicker. Now going to work towards a full release as I have plans for a new project to come out. Thanks again for all the support!

Ascended Diplomat!

Ladies and Gentlemen I am impressed... The "Ascended Diplomat" Achievement was put in the game as a milestone of dedication. To get the achievement you must fully rank up all factions, bearing in mind that as you gain reputation with one factions you lose reputation with the other two. I honestly didn't think anyone would get this so... Dayum! Looking through, I've seen someone has got this achievement, so this is a call out! If you're the person to get this achievement reply to this post and I want to gift you another 10 free copies of the game. Next person to do it, also reply here and I'll send you 5 copies. (the game is going to increase in price down the line so hanging onto those copies won't be a bad thing)
