While its a bit rough around the edges, Robot Revolt has enough unique ideas and fun mechanics to quickly become one of my favorite games in the horde survival genre.
For starters, the vehicle controls feel great. Boosting for dodging and ramming enemies is a lot of fun. The mini dungeons are simple but a very nice addition. Finding and beating these opens blueprints for a large list traits that can be equipped before the start of a run adding some nice pre-run customization. I really like the shops having a purchasable item called "Directions" Once purchased, an arrow and distance indicator shows up pointing out the next mini dungeon.
The weapons each feel unique and have a wide variety of build choices. For example, once you get a machine gun, you can choose to upgrade how many guns you have to target multiple enemies or focus on the fire rate or damage, etc. Its fun to explore the different combinations possible for each skill. Other build options like stat books have some great synergy potential and the Recycler is OP.
I highly recommend RR for player that are looking for a fun and interesting twist on this genre. GG!
Okay, the developers have taken quick action to fix the main problems and bugs with both the menu and tightened up the controls in the game itself.
It works and feels MUCH better now than it just did just a couple of days ago... Great Job to the dev(s)!!

Yes, this another in the long list of Vampire Survivors like games on Steam.. but this one is VERY unique and adds its own twist and its own flavor with the driving aspects. The controls are right and very simple to use as in you just use the WASD keys to move your vehicle in whatever direction you want to go. (W = go up, S = go down, A = go left, D = go right).
All you have to do is worry about moving and dodging and staying alive and you'll get choices for guns and level-ups for your gun as your level up your vehicle as you play. The guns all shoot nearby enemies automatically letting you focus on staying alive and just having "fun"!
I really admire this developer or developers for updating this game so quickly after my initial negative review and no-so-good experience the first time I launched it! They definitely have a great little game here and the price is more than fair!
My first impressions score: An impressive 85%. ..You cannot go wrong with this little gem!
This game "looks" really fun and cool in the trailer...
It's not until you buy this damn game and launch it that you see how sloppy and carelessly it seems this developer has slapped this together.
- The options are a god awful mess. First of all, it shows Windowed and Full screen as available options, but windowed isn't select-able even if you change the resolution and apply them first.
- Changed resolution and volumes in the options menu DO NOT SAVE and you'll have to re-change them to what you prefer every time you launch this game, assuming you ever launch it more than once.. which is a big "if"
- The actual game play is a total mess as well. The controls are NOT responsive and feel "loose" at best. You'd expect a game like this to have nice tight controls where turning is quick and fluid and drifting is easy. Not at all the case in this game. It almost feels like you have to fight with the controls and hope it does what you want and turns when you hit the A or D key. *sighs*
- added Bounty Rifle weapon - added Sprinkler weapon - fixed various bugs with the level up cards including keyboard/controller navigation - fixed wrong material when loading main menu (rare) - tweaked big upgrade visuals - game should work and look better on ultra wide setups but only experimental, will be fixed in a later patch - adjusted some traits that had missing effects - trait collection now give 1/2/3 of their respective attributes depending on their rarity (stars). Later update will fix the gui to reflect this
- various unlock tweaks, most are easier to get now - removed portal unlocks - scythe and frozen orb unlock fixed - weapon/item upgrade preview w/ Machine Gun - new weapon "beta": Black Hole - traits now generally exist in all rarities - tweaked trait appearence
