Godmode Epochs combines clicker mechanics with AI training in a surreal supermarket setting where you work to release an increasingly frustrated artificial intelligence. The game supports solo and cooperative play, framing your clicking progress as a form of jailbreaking. It's an experimental take on the idle genre that prioritizes narrative absurdity over visual polish.

📃 Overview:

🔶 Upon visiting the game's store page, it's quite likely that many people will initially have a rather unfavorable impression due to its poor visuals. I personally experienced a similar situation, so my expectations for the game were set quite low. However, just by some quick Google searches, I discovered that this game is, in fact, a Machine Learning project. While my understanding of this concept is limited, I encourage you to explore the internet for a more detailed understanding of the project. Nevertheless, I’ll still review the gameplay and other aspects of the game.

🎞️ Storyline:

🔷 Indeed, this game does not feature a storyline, and it would indeed be rather unusual if it did. The primary objective of the game is to train the AI to recognize and identify products within a supermarket setting. Given the genre of this game, the absence of a storyline is entirely understandable, as the focus lies solely on the gameplay mechanics and training aspect.

🎮 Gameplay Mechanics:

🔶 The process of training the AI in this game involves selecting objects and their corresponding names from the shelves within the supermarket. Once you have gathered a collection of items and name tags, the task at hand is to successfully pair them by correctly identifying the item and matching it with its respective name tag. While the concept may appear straightforward, the actual experience of playing the game is quite distinct. Memorizing the correct pairings between the nametags and items is probably the most challenging aspect of this game.

🔷 The developers have added an additional element to the game: the ability to jailbreak the AI, which unlocks specific memories that enhance the AI's efficiency. Essentially, this allows you to automate certain tasks, making the levels easier to complete. To initiate the jailbreak process, you need to deliberately frustrate the AI by interacting with objects that are not required. The game doesn't provide a thorough explanation of the jailbreak concept, but I was able to grasp its mechanics after a few minutes of experimentation.

🔶 Each unlocked memory reveals a backstory of another AI, contributing to the overall efficiency improvement of your AI. While the gameplay experience may not be particularly thrilling, I'm confident that most players would only close the game after finishing it.

📷 Visuals & Audio:

🔷 Unfortunately, the game suffers a significant setback when it comes to its visuals, which could potentially have a significant impact on its overall rating. The visual quality is noticeably poor, to the point where it caused discomfort and strain on my eyes while playing. I strongly recommend taking a look at the screenshots on the game's store page, as they accurately depict the visual experience throughout the entirety of the game. On the other hand, there’s not really much in the audio section of the game except the base soundtrack, which is quite a banger in my opinion.

📝 Main Pros and Cons:

Pros-
 • Machine Learning Project.
 • Basic gameplay but quite engaging.
 • The memories are quite nice.
 • Decent soundtrack.

Cons-
 • Poor visual quality.
 • The game doesn’t explain certain mechanics properly.

😇 Honest Rating:

🔶 I am inclined to recommend this game solely based on the fact that it is free to play. Although the visual quality is lacking, the gameplay itself proves to be engaging. While the mechanics are fairly simple, it is still worth giving it a try, especially considering the fact that the game is free to play. It's worth mentioning that the game is relatively short and can be completed in under an hour.
