Absorber is a short idle auto-battler where you absorb stat boosts and abilities from defeated enemies rather than earning traditional experience. Combat progresses passively while you're away, with each enemy type granting unique perks like speed or health that permanently strengthen your character. Best suited for players seeking a quick idle experience, though the game offers limited content and hasn't received meaningful updates since its browser release years ago.

absolutely not worth this, or any price, in its current state. its the same game thats been sitting completely abandoned on kongregate/itch for years. stay away unless the guy actually adds a LOT of content, because theres not even 2 days worth of idle content in this 3 year old idle game.

So i've been a fan of Absorber for several years, its a short idle auto battler game but it had a really nice idea, you kill enemies, you get stronger, but instead of EXP and leveling up, you get some stat boosts or abilities that the enemy had.

starter enemies like the bat give you speed (the most important skill in the game) and later on enemies can give you Health, or stun chance. you get the idea.

So i read the other reviews on this game and i found them to be problematic....

yes the game was made several years ago for free, and yes this particular version is only slightly updated from that free version. (it added challenges that change things a bit, and a few quality of life changes) but is otherwise the same game.

but for people to say this is a cash grab completely misunderstand why the developer put it on steam.

they re-started updating it.

they did an update, then threw it onto steam to try and follow the hype because so many people loved absorber when it first came out, and you can still play that updated version for free online, this is literally just them trying to reinvest their time and energy into a project they love.

also for those curious, the discord is fairly active, with the dev taking a direct role in communicating with their player base which is how i learned about all of this. they even have a roadmap of future updates.

stuff like more enemies, better balance, another prestige layer (called ascension), they also want to see if giving players a more active playstyle would help because they are trying to make the game enjoyable for everyone.

right now its about 3 days of content, thats not a lot but its more than enough for the 3 dollars they are asking for, and i know that what they plan to add could increase playtime from 3 days to a month or more, its just a matter of giving them time to do it.

so right now im giving this a thumbs up because the dev has been very straightforward on discord about what they are trying to do, i think they are going in the right direction.

OH before i forget

this is an AUTO BATTLER, its meant to be hands-off for the most part, that's the whole point. you choose what enemy you fight, and you watch it fight. its not as active as some idle games but thats why its an idle game. please remember that when considering this for purchase, its not for everyone, but i greatly enjoy it.

just a bad port of an idle game that is 3 years old on kongregate etc. and didnt have any updates or enough content.
the biggest issue is i tested the FREE browsergame but it always stops when you dont have it ontop/focus. AN IDLE GAME.
even if you pay for this theres no good workaround.

please dont support this cashgrab!
