The End Grows combines real-time roguevania exploration with exponential progression, tasking you to advance as far as possible within a strict five-minute timer. You gain dozens of levels per strike and reallocate stat points on the fly to adapt your build mid-run, with each attempt pushing you further into new areas through compounding upgrades. Ideal for players seeking quick, addictive play loops that blur the line between action RPG and idle mechanics.

Highly Recommend!

I came from the phone game "Ashes - Exponential RPG", from the same creator, which is similar to Inflation RPG. This game takes the same idea and turns it into an Action RPG which really makes the limited time per run that much more exciting.

Even being in Early Access the game is well worth the money with a good sense of progression, an "as-you-go" tutorial where it shows you how to use your new skills as you pick them up, and a moderate level of difficulty to keep you engaged without feeling impossible. Pretty much every run you are able to pick up new gear and have a general sense of what you need to get to move forward.

Something that may have been easier due to playing this genre of game before is the importance of the luck stat at certain points of the game to farm up enough gold to buy the next set of equipment and knowing a generally good balance of stats. New players to this genre may have a harder time picking up how best to stat and when to focus on luck to push for equipment but that can be half the fun and will help prolong the inevitable end of your time in this game.

Side note: The creator does love their secrets, enjoy searching all over the map for any hidden content (only a few things so far)!

Very nice game for a solo dev !

Seems clunky at first, but you soon get addicted and the 5 minutes loop make you want to do "one more and I go to bed" .... and it's 2AM, but you are now level 43254 which is nice.

5/5 will end the world again.

Nice game, that calls for a "another one!" loop.
First 3 runs can be boring, but just continue some more.
Like the Mobile game "Ashes - Exponential RPG", you are rapidly brought by the game to get more loot, more loot more loot, and new areas once you get enough stuff to go in.
Nice game, I have not finished it, I don't know if it's a 4 hours game, but I like it.
@dev Please continue your work!

The End Grows – Full Release!

191 days ago
It is with great emotion that I officially announce the release of The End Grows. After 3 years of development, the game is now available on Steam.In The End Grows, the end of the world arrives in 5 minutes, and a strange yellow entity forces you to relive these final moments in an endless loop. The game is built on two strong pillars:Its gameplay: At first glance, The End Grows may look like a metroidvania with a time loop, but its real strength lies in its progression system. I designed an almost exponential leveling system, where you increase your stats in the heat of action, using the directional pad.Every enemy you defeat gives you a large amount of XP, and the whole strategy revolves around optimizing your run to become strong enough to accomplish an objective within those five minutes.Progression happens on two layers:During the run, thanks to the stats you upgrade.Between runs, since the items you acquire persist when time resets.Most items rely on percentage-based bonuses to stats and XP, making every new run increasingly explosive and impactful.Its universe: A vast 2D side-view open world, built with a minimalist art direction in shades of gray and yellow. It deals with themes of the end of the world, infinity, and absurdity.The story, told through environments and NPCs, leads to a memorable ending. The roughly twenty hours of gameplay, spread across eight chapters, allow for a complex narrative that gradually unfolds.
