Idle Space Force combines retro arcade shooting mechanics with idle game progression, where you manually fire at enemies initially before automating your fleet to generate resources. The game layers in time-gated upgrades and optional purchases, alongside its nostalgic Galaga-inspired visuals. It appeals to players who enjoy both classic arcade aesthetics and the gradual automation loop of idle games, though the monetization model may not suit those seeking a purely progression-based experience.

The dev was nice enough to send me a free key of this game.
The game seems nice at first, but quickly comes up with time gates which can be skipped by purchasing premium currency.
After bringing this up in this discord, people of the community there called me "butthurt" "snowflake" and a myriad of other things. Some of the users had Nazi dogwhistles in their profiles. So it's likely fair to say that most of the community around this game fits into the "right wing edgelord" category. Do with that as you will.

Considering the type of company the dev seems to keep, and considering this is a paid game, PLUS premium currency features, I'd say avoid at all costs.

This is a fun little game. I really like the Galaga/Galaxian feeling and the retro styling, I have always loved those retro arcade games so that's a cool feature.

The gameplay loop so far is pretty simple like most idle games. Start manually, collect some sort of currency, automate it, progress. Everything works pretty much as expected.

There are microtransactions in the game which is meh... but anymore I can't think of many paid or free games without them. What is nice though is that the microtransactions don't feel required to play.

I'm curious if there will be any endgame twists, but for now I am enjoying the game.

With enough skeletons destroyed you'll have your chance to unlock Ms. Cleo Cat, the black cat that can fly on a broom and cast mischievous spells on you! Beware! Or perhaps you'll unlock the new Halloween Theme, which turns your ship into a candy corn firing jack-o-lantern!
