TWO DAYS!
31 days agoThat's it! I'm on the last round of bug fixes. Music, achievements, all of it are in (OST slaps!). Tomorrow is my final checks on the Steam Deck and then it's launch time!
So close!
123 days agoHi all, Plant Budz 98 started as a joke game jam game that was a fake sequel to the original Plant Budz (also a jam game). Long story short, I was able to get the OG sound person on board to take over audio. He is pumping out tracks as we speak and they sound amazing. It's dancy, it's funky, it's perfect. That said, understandably so, he needs time to craft. I also need a smidge more myself. I have a handful of people beta testing. So far the responses have exceeded expectations, but there are still bugs to squash. The cleanup of years of creative messes is always a bigger hurdle than it seems. Testing has started on Steam Deck and it's 98% functional! Some audio integration, icing, and sprinkles and it will be there! I appreciate everyone's patience and I'm so excited to release the budz.-Jirapher
About That Release Date
200 days agoHey everyone,I wanted to give you an honest update on where things stand with Plant Budz. The short version: we're pushing the release back a bit (Q1 2026). The original timeline just isn't realistic anymore given how development has evolved. Here's what happened: what started as a team effort has become essentially a solo project. Life circumstances changed for the others involved, and I've been wearing all the hats for a while now. I won't pretend I'm not part of the problem either - my 'go big or go home' philosophy can be difficult to work with. I'm still fully committed to finishing this game and making it something I'm proud of, but I need to be realistic about what one person can accomplish in a given timeframe.Delays are frustrating – I'm frustrated. But I've made the mistake of releasing unpolished content before and I would sooner scrap a project than do that again. The game is still happening. Progress continues. I'm just adjusting expectations to match reality. Thanks for sticking with me. Your support means more than you know, especially during the final stretch.More updates soon,Jirapher
