Audio shoutout & patch notes
35 days agoFixed the settings-saving bug (audio/cursor speed weren't sticking), some menu cleanup, and a few smaller fixes based on what people flagged. Nothing huge, just tightening things up.While I'm here — I want to properly credit Peter, who did all the sound and music for this game. Genuinely made the game feel alive once his work was in it. If you liked what you heard, he's got more up on Bandcamp (here!)This has been a fun one to make and get out into the world. I appreciate everyone who's played it, left a review, or sent feedback — it's gone into this patch and will keep going into whatever comes next!
TWO DAYS!
76 days agoThat's it! I'm on the last round of bug fixes. Music, achievements, all of it are in (OST slaps!). Tomorrow is my final checks on the Steam Deck and then it's launch time!
So close!
168 days agoHi all, Plant Budz 98 started as a joke game jam game that was a fake sequel to the original Plant Budz (also a jam game). Long story short, I was able to get the OG sound person on board to take over audio. He is pumping out tracks as we speak and they sound amazing. It's dancy, it's funky, it's perfect. That said, understandably so, he needs time to craft. I also need a smidge more myself. I have a handful of people beta testing. So far the responses have exceeded expectations, but there are still bugs to squash. The cleanup of years of creative messes is always a bigger hurdle than it seems. Testing has started on Steam Deck and it's 98% functional! Some audio integration, icing, and sprinkles and it will be there! I appreciate everyone's patience and I'm so excited to release the budz.-Jirapher
