In-Depth Review
Visuals
Since the game lets you paint pixels, the game uses pixelated visuals. The interface is pretty simple with you choosing which artwork to color. The text in the buttons can be confusing at first, but you won't interact with it that much.
The Game
GameplayAs a paint-by-number game,
Pixel Paint Together 🖌️'s gameplay is simple: there are several colors at the top and you must use them to color the picture on the screen. The smaller images will fit on one screen, although the larger ones will require you to scroll them to color everything. The artwork was divided into several themes, with national flags being the majority of them.
The artwork can be lazily done sometimes. Some of them look like copy-pasted from the previous image with a small difference. This was more apparent in the smiley pack, with only expressions different from each other.

Coloring the pixels can also get boring sometimes, as it lacks a paint bucket tool. You need to use your mouse (or finger if you play it on
Steam Deck like me), to color everything by hand. The thing is, some large images tend to be large not because of the complexity, but because it was made to make the size bigger—you'll find yourself using the same color for a large number of regions. A paint bucket tool will make the coloring faster in this case, although that will also mean that you'll go through the images faster.
Since I played in
Steam Deck, I'm glad that the game don't replace the color once I painted a pixel with the correct color. It can be hard to accurately click on the right pixel, making the game unbeatable if the feature doesn't exist. However, I couldn't find a button to turn it off for those who want more challenges.

The game has a lot of images to color in. Most of them are in the size of 16x16, but there are also others with larger sizes. Personally, I prefer images with a smaller size that fits my
Steam Deck resolution so I don't have to move around the image, especially since finding the last pixel to color can be hard in large images.
The game also offers some customization. You'll get them after you color a lot of pixels, although I don't think it's that appealing. I didn't use it much since it's purely cosmetic, especially since I only care about coloring pictures.

Length and DifficultyI finished the game in 34h. The game is easy to finish - you can even mindlessly color the images like I did. Personally, I did it while finishing my
Duolingo sessions, and despite not paying attention to it most of the time, I still managed to finish some pictures. However, there is no way to save your progress between images.
IssuesThe game requires an internet connection to play—you won't be able to load a picture if you are not connected to the internet.
Conclusion
As someone who just wants to mindlessly color images,
Pixel Paint Together 🖌️ does a good job at it. The features and the look might be lacking compared to other paint-by-pixel games, but for its price, it offers a lot of images to color. It also made me realize that coloring pixels is addicting. It's a great game to begin your pixel painting journey.
