Raise fish from eggs to adults in your aquarium, battling hostile creatures along the way while your pets generate coins and gems for upgrades. The core loop alternates between nurturing your growing collection and spending their earnings to expand your tank or acquire rare eggs, creating a gentle cycle of progression that rewards both active play and passive resource gathering.

Hello to the old and young fishers ! ! !I have a new small update on the way. Nothing crazy. I was originally going to post this on Halloween last year since the whole premise of this update was originally an enemy update. But I just got lazy with creating assets, so this update isn't ready yet. And Because no build is getting pushed yet, this will be my first Dev post. I feel like having a history of the game progress even if its not an update would be important to have. Even if no one plans on reading these.Going back to early October, i was working on a new Enemy species, Remora. So far I haven't decided on the art direction so creating a new asset for an enemy yet just doesn't feel right. I will post some ideas on what I want Remora to look like, but these are all TBD on. So right now Remora is just a white square rectangle.RemoraThe real species Remora, also called sharksucker, are the Oceans hitch hikers. They are often seen hanging around /stuck on Sharks. They have an sucker appendage that's used for sticking themselves onto fish bigger than them. With this in mind, I wanted to create a new Enemy that used that ability.Since Guppys are way to small for a Remora to attach to, the only thing bigger is the player. More specifically, the player's mouse. (Just go with it, but do you get it? Its cause i'm referencing the real player's mouse.)Remoras want to get around the tank, only way for them to do so is to hitch a ride on the players mouse. If a Remora gets attached to the players mouse, they gain a 10% debuff on their mouse. Now, you're wondering how thats going to look like. Its pretty simple. the mouse just moves slower, so the player has to move the mouse farther, which takes more effort from the player.Just like in real life, Remoras are heavy and slow down Sharks if too many are attached. If too many Remoras are attached to the players mouse, the player loses the ability to move their mouse until they are able to get rid of them.Since they are an enemy, th...
Hello to all fishies and fishers!!!!I finally got the second part of the egg mechanic for the game done. It's still super early in its progress, so don't expect a super crazy thing with this. But for starters, this mechanic will introduce the actual requirements to start hatching pets. In the previous update it was just building the egg, but now we have requirements!! All levels in the game where you unlock a pet have this feature now and are also all unique. Take for example Mary, her egg requires you to have a few baby guppys within the tank, plus another requirement, to hatch.(Just figured out how to make gifs ;p)This will help with making each level feel unique, even though you're still doing the same thing on a surface level. But aside from the new pet egg requirements, this update introduces a new pet. Say hello to Cherry!!Cherry is a quahog clam, or in other words a cherrystone clam. She is a simple pet, she sits at the bottom of your tank and occasionally produces pearls. Each pearl is worth 255 money or about 12 Guppys. She also has a pretty interesting ability too, you can grab her and move her around the tank. She doesn't mind it, and if you want, you can drop her from the top of the tank. She also weighs a bit, but that's just her shell's weight. But with this extra shell weight, she can stun enemies with it. Just drop her on top of enemies and watch them get stunned. Just note, this will not be the final look/build for Cherry. I plan on completely changing her look in the future. At least I plan on updating her sprite to be built 3d-ish. I think I have an idea for creating all assets for the game, just need to figure out a good approach to this idea. But the overall idea of her being a clam with pearl making abilities + basic crowd control will be her identity. OHH,Here she is giving you a pearl!!!As for final notes, here are the patch notes: Added Pet Descriptions to post game, now you know what each pet does, kinda...Added Pet Sprites to post game, no...
Welcome back to another update of my favorite game to code. Even though I tank forever to come out with update. I did just start a new job at the start of this year. I was not expecting it to drain my soul dry to the point I can't even work on anything outside. Hopefully it gets better but who knows. This will slow game dev progress by some. So instead of by-monthly it might be tri-monthly. As for the actual update, I didn't really add a whole lot, this is more of a small update. Mostly behind a behind the scenes update for me but I wanted to push this now since Easter is starting today and this update was inspired by Easter in general. This is the introduction to Egg Assembly. If you thought that buying the egg pieces was too simple of a task in Insaniaquarium, now its time to start actually assembling the eggs. *In a future update I will include the requirement you will need to hatch them. Which should create some fun unique little puzzles for each level. There's going to be a new direction I'm pushing the art towards. I'm dropping the pixelated look for the game since I couldn't really convey to much with that art-style with what I was trying to do. Instead I'm going to try a canvas painted art style that can express a bit more. I might change it again but this will be what I want to be using moving forward. This new art style also fits with the Insaniaquarium Vibe, since they kinda do this style throughout the game. I see it most with the tank backgrounds. I plan to slowly transition some of the fish into the new style as well. I'm still figuring out how to animate them as a 2d sprite. Its kinda hard to explain but want to animate them as a flat fish that is animated in 3d. Kinda like Wii Play fishing mini game. Anyways that's my rant about the current state of the game. Here's the Update patch notes. Fixed diamond money value, it was way too much Fixed Guppy start hunger being to high. Dialogue box hides when esc menu is open'd Guppys now visably grow instead o...
